without supporting them they wouldnt have the motivation to go out and play everyday we give energy they feed off of us but since you padre fans are all fake you dont know bout supporting your team every giants player said without the fans they wouldnt have been able to continue game in and game out

It's no surprise now why the Padres couldn't get half of the stadium to fill up, even down the stretch in playoff type games(or all year for that matter). With fans like King Spade, it all makes sense now.

The Giants have out-drawn the Padres every year since PETCO opened, even more impressive considering we didn't have a winning record until '09 and you won two division titles (05, 06) during that time span.

Im not surprised. The Padres are one of the cheapest and shittiest franchises in baseball. Besides a hand full of legendary players theres no history or winning traditions so their not gonna draw as much. You can talk about how unloyal and fake the fans are but thats just the business of sports. Winning draws crowds and the Padres can't seem to win shit.

but with that said. out of curiosity what do you guys do as fans in the real world? i hate to pull this stuff out, but its just to make a point....ive been a padres season ticket goer since the opening of petco park. me, my girl, couple friends, and couple cousins are regulars at petco. we and the ushers are on first name basis. the broadcast crew knows us. we're regulars at spring training. we've traveled cross country to watch them play during interleague...etc. so yeah im a fake fan...but im almost certain i support the pads more than most of you internet giants/cowboys fans.

fat tony gwynn > san francisco
waldo geraldo faldo > kimmy gibler

So how do you explain Raider fans invading Qualcomm every year, even when the Raiders suck. They even make you buy extra tickets to other games if you wanna buy tickets to see the Raiders in SD, just to try and keep the Raider fans out. Its a joke.

Just face it, most San Diego sports fans are pathetic with no loyalty or pride.

^^^there is a difference though..raider fans have won it all before. and they hold on to that to fuel them.

and theres a deeper identity element in being a part of the raider nation. you have these certain mexicans who as kids decide its "cooler" to root for the raiders cause they see other mexicans who they think are "cool" and its more of the "hard" or "edgy" or "anti establishment" team to root for....next thing you know you have this cult following of mexicans from sd who are raider fans (and they'll say shit like "is cuz my families from la"). black folks might do it too, but ive personally seen it with mexicans.

not only that, but they love getting out of their la or oakland shit holes to take a little vacation in sd for a weekend and come to the games.

keep in mind san diego is a transplant city. people come here for temporary work, college (sdsu-2nd most applied to university in the nation...full of people from the bay), marines, navy, or even the beaches....and end up staying here forever. 90% of the new friends i make in sd are not originally from sd. not an excuse, but it adds to the lack of team fanaticism
