now that i got yaw attention. lol

i wasnt gonna respond 2 this but i feel like i owe it to my siccness fans!
yaw been hitting me up saying "man i love ur album, i feel like u shoulda sold way more", so for yaw i respond.

i put out "YOUNG & RESTLESS" last march 21st.

it whas my FIRST album that could be bought in stores (best buy, towers, etc.). i did a couple mix cds before which were only sold at rasputins so those dont count. a good mix cd would sale 1,000 and id give out another 1,000. JOB done buzz started.

back to my album

i paid for tha music, studio time, album cover, structured album, got all tha features, and came up wit album cover design all that shit ON MY OWN. AYINDE MUSIC is my label that i own. i took it to will at smc and he distributed it thru fontana.

i got a GREAT deal (one album and a big $ amount per unit)

if u have ever put out a album u would know that a distributors job is to SIMPLY put the records in tha store.

ITS THEN tha artists job to make tha cds move.

i sold 881 cds the first week wit no video and no major radio play.

whas i disappointed, yes but i got on my grind and hustled.

if u know rap soundscans

cd sales drop more than half after first week and jus keep getting worse and worse.

so if i did 881 first week u would think i would never reach 2,000 sales.

wrong.

so here we are a year later and ill be at 4,000 at tha end of month. (still saling 50 cds a month)

soundscans doesnt count tha hand to hand sales i been salin in tha street and shows for tha last year which is about 1,000 at $5 a piece out tha trunk.

not to mention tha crazy downloads that happens to bay artists. (tha homie big rich said he got more than 20,000 downloads on his album) i am a big internet artist there for most of my fans got it str8 off tha internet for free. YOUNG & RESTLESS whas up 2 to 3 weeks before the release date on all kinda sites from all around tha nation.

i never once complained because i feel how ever u get it bump it and spread tha word BALANCE.

tha album whas critically acclaimed in all reviews (scratch, urb, xxl) so i more then acheived what i wanted to!!!

i never been one to lie about my sales. i dont make music for tha sales i make it cus i love rap.

i know so many artist who struggle to sale 500 cds total of there album so as much as i feel i can and will do better i am blessed to have the sales i do.

my 4k fans are true fans who bought my album because they like BALANCE music not because of a song on tha radio or a video wit bitches in it. these 4k fans will be faithful because of the quality and time i put into my music.

since when did soundscans represent a good album or how good an artist is?

i could point tha finger at alot of reasons why my album didnt get tha look that it could've but im focused on me

my goal in dropping YOUNG & RESTLESS whas to sale 5,000 units

soundscan says 3,965 as of today it will be 4,000 at end of month

tha album has been out for a year and i still sale 50 cds a month

before i drop my sophmore album in 2k8 i will have reached my goal of 5,000 units.

my goal on my second album is 10k.

bay artist have to move in steps, when u drop a album OF UR OWN u will see how hard it is to get someone to buy a album.

so after all this reading i give u a exclusive free song off tha amazing BIG RICH & BALANCE "unda dogs" mix cd ALBUM DROPPING JULY 3RD!!!

go to www.myspace.com/balanceskillz to hear song

thanks to my fans

IF u wanna help tha balance movement spread my music!!!!!

ENJOY

____________

Very true statement.

Distribution is great and means you can have your product widely available to any of the stores in any cities that you have created a buzz for yourself in. But creating the buzz is the key. Good luck to all still pushin in this hectic biz.

Balance keep it movin ... I went out and bought a copy of your album from Tower Records when it came out. I'll continue to support you.

Keep grindin' Balance. I'm one of those 4000 customers and I put several of your tracks on lil' homemade mixtapes (yes actual cassettes) and gave em to some djs around Portland to bump in their rides and backyard boom boxes -- several gave me feedback that they were feeling it. I hadn't heard your stuff before I bought the album, I got it off of online reviews, but I'll be copping your next cd too mayne.

By the way, people who dl'ed the album missed out on the packaging which had great photography an' shit, and the actual cd which was pressed to look like a record.

See, Balance, this is why I have and will continue to support you. You are a humble dude, and stay on the grind. And on top of that, probably the most underrated artist in the bay. Keep doin what you're doin.

strong support to you. so many people are caught upon sales and i say to them, i know you got folks that rap, put out a project on them and see how hard it is to sell 100-500 units. after first hand experience they will respect the grind more
