No I mean compared to other legit martial arts(boxing, wrestling, bjj, judo, etc.) taekwondo is a joke.
taekwondo isnt a joke, all martial arts serve a purpose. im guessing thats why bruce lee encompassed all styles.

i dont think i would have understood the technical/physical side of kicks and punches had i just went to kung fu first.

maybe you had more fun learning other martial arts (i did too, i liked kung fu way more because it was more fighting) , but thats not to say that taekwondo is useless.

GOOD LOOKING GUERRERO, I GREW UP BOXING AND TRAINED WITH ERIK PAULSON FOR TWO YEARS...AND MY POPS EARNED A BLACK BELT IN KARATE IN JAPAN...WHEN THE SHIT WASNT SO MCDOJO'D AND MORE OF A LETHAL ART...SO IT'S IN HIS BLOOD REGARDLESS

^ @Brown..Thats cool and all...but...I'd probably make sure that was something he was interested in first. Nothing worse than being forced into doing something as a kid.

Shit...I know first had. I played in the AYSO soccer league when I was little...and to me...playing soccer was not the business.
NAH THATS WHY I MADE IT A POINT TO STATE HE'S SELF MOTIVATED...HE JUST LOVES COMPETITION...WHEN HE WORKS OUT, HIS STRENGTH COACH TOLD ME THAT HE'S THE TYPE TO GO THE EXTRA MILE. FOR INSTANCE HE TOLD HIM TO DO 15 REPS AND THAT HE'LL DO TWENTY INSTEAD ON HIS OWN.
AND HE JUST LOVES COMPETING...
I WAS FORCED AS A KID TO BOX AND I HATED IT BACK THEN...I'M GLAD I WAS FORCED NOW, BUT IT ISNT SOMETHING I WOULD DO TO MY KID.

@Stomper - thats fucking sick

@mista murder - Seriously, if you want to train MMA you should. It's really big now and there are tons of schools everywhere. The Bay Area itself has some of the best schools in the world.
