im talking about the bullpen brian wilson(not young) but a newcomer, hennesy, correia and sanchez(just when down to minors). the pitcher they gave was a starting pitcher which isnt a need right now. stanton has been good lately in july. i rather take chance now to fix bullpen and try to win the division.

the rotation will good for many years. with cain, lowery, morris, schimidit(if he resigns), hennesy and sanchez in rotation the giants will be fine. bullpen is the problem.

i see nothing special about those pitchers. Baseball America sees nothing special about those pitchers.

none of them project as successful starters, in fact i think they might be journeyman relievers at best

from what i have read Cain has top of the Rotation "Potential", Lowery is a #3 type pitcher, Morris is past his peak and will get worse as the seasons pass, same with schmidt, Hennessey and Sanchez are still young but i havent ever heard or read from any1 not associated with the Giants that they will be Front End Starters

when bonds is gone and most likely when Schmidt is gone the Giants will be in SHAMBLES and in the CELLAR.

that is my honest opinion, not my i am a Dodgers Fan Opinion

Having free cap space isnt a bad thing. I bet with the money bonds is making right now, we can get atliest 2 players who will be alot more productive then Bonds has been this year. Sabean just has to spend monet wisely. Theres a load of players in the last year of their contract so next years squad should be alot different and thats no necessarly a bad thing with the way the team has been playing latley.

could be steller but others teams wont be fall behind. all it takes is one slugger to win this division. giants have better starting pitcher than dodgers, rockies, az, san diego. the offense will be in trouble next year without bonds alou, durham but i got confience that slugger would be acquired next year ex. cabera, soriano or carlos lee.

and your tripping about schmidt, his era is 3.18, he would have 12-13 win if giants scored more runs. he back to his 2003 or 2004 years.

and about baseball american - are they always right? prospects dont always pan out. has any of dodgers starting pitchers on list done anything. are a few open already not doing special. when cain and lowery came up they were special. when lowery came he shoutout the red sox for 5-6 innings.

this is only dodger pitcher on 100 number :C Billingsley LAD 2- 3 3.93. and thats average not great stats.

dodger starters:

lowe(average)

penny(good)

maddux(old and done)

sele(journeyman)

and C Billingsley

in couple years or even next year - that only 2 good starters compared to giants 5. i take these 5 giants starters anyday to these dodgers five or 2 in future.

yeah you right but are they starters and they expected to come up soon? you dont know what can get from them if havent been up to majors. so for now giants starters are better than dodgers.

7. CHAD BILLINGSLEY, rhp, Dodgers
"There are times when his command is a little off, but his arm strength, demeanor on the mound, presence--everything is good. He has a chance to be a dominant starter in the big leagues."
--Birmingham manager Razor Shines
ETA: 2006
(only pitcher ranked higher is F. Liriano at #6 and Matt Cain is at #10)

55. SCOTT ELBERT, lhp, Dodgers
"He made quick bats look like palm trees through peanut butter."
--Greenville manager Chad Epperson
ETA: 2008

63. JONATHAN BROXTON, rhp, Dodgers
"He blows it by people, has deception in his delivery, a power breaking ball and a feel for it. Broxton looked like a bigger Bartolo Colon out there, with a better body."
--anonymous scout

your right, they are average and not great, yet they are pretty much better all round than Matt Cains, right???

and if i am not mistaken they are both just 21 or 22 year old and pretty much rookies
