I'm a huge Frontline fan...I've been listening to them for awhile. The song is cool, not the greatest I've heard from the Frontline, but it's definitely got a mainstream feel to it. Especially after you see the video.
As for street cred...who gives a fuck? If you make good music then you're cool with me. As far as I know, Zion I has never killed nobody or nothin, yet they still put out some of the best music in the bay. Now maybe because that gangsta style isn't the way they rap, but neither does Frontline, so you can't stick them in that same genre with all the other thug rappers out there. They are in a more lyrical and conscious genre.
The thing you find out after actually listening to a Frontline CD is the contrasting styles of Locksmith and Left. I wasn't a huge fan of Left at first myself, but after listening to their album you begin to appreciate his style.
Obviously, Locksmith comes with the crazy lyrics that can eat just about anyone on MTV. But the other side to the coin is Left's story-telling. Lock spits fire, and Left spits truth. That's why I think they make such a good group.
