looks like floyd & golden boy are going to try to put on a great card for May 1st:

Juan Manuel Marquez vs Amir Khan

Saul Alvarez
vs TBA

Joan Guzman vs Casamayor (rumored)

I got Amir Khan with the surprise victory over marquez. If they can get this fight on the undercard, shiiiiit
weren't they trynna work on marquez vs. hatton?

Mosley has never been KO'd in his entire career.
Floyd definitely won't be the one to do it.

That combo that Forrest put on Shane in Rd 2 of their first fight would have sent Mayweather out on a stretcher.

There will be blood test, Arum and Pacman bitched out and used blood test as an excuse. Mayweather is lookin for the big tough fights...
You don't really believe this do you?

Him taking the Mosley fight was more him getting backed into a corner that he couldn't out of by Manny taking the Clottey fight.

When mentions of these other opponents were brought up, the boxing public spoke out, and for the most part said they would not support a bullshit fight like: Floyd vs Malignaggi, Floyd vs Matthew Hatton, or Floyd vs 19 year old Saul Alvarez

I'm glad this fight did get made, but don't think for a second that Floyd was looking for the toughest fights out there. That simply hasn't been true since 2004.

I do give him props for taking this fight though, even though he was probably reluctant to do so. Remember, not too long ago he gave every excuse NOT to wanna fight Shane...now that he has no choice, its either retire again or fight him.

EPIC FAIL by Golden Boy by not getting Khan-Marquez on this card. Khan is still an unknown to casual fans and him fighting Marquez on the Mosley-Mayweather card would have given him great exposure.

Good luck trying to sell a Khan-Marquez headlined PPV.

I guess what's happening is that Khan/Marquez and Paul Williams/Kermit Cintron are fighting for the HBO date of May 8th (not the 15th, my bad). The reason this date is important is because they can piggyback off of the free replay of Mayweather/Mosley, which is guaranteed to get big numbers. So they will have the replay, then immediately after the live fight(s).

So that's the logic of having Khan on a separate date. More money for floyd and shane I guess and they'll still be able to get good ratings (not PPV) for the Khan/Marquez fight.

Khan is really determined to become an American star, which is why he's choosing to fight Marquez and not Marcos Maidana (his mandatory). I don't know if that's the smart thing to do, but that's what he wants apparently. And to be honest, I kinda feel like Golden Boy is "feeding" the aging marquez to khan, thinking (maybe hoping?) Khan beats him and becomes the next big thing, because honestly, like others have said khan hasn't really done anything to deserve a shot against marquez.

You gotta stop hatin' on Mayweather man... Pacman was hot and on a destruction serving everybody that was put in front of him and Mayweather was willing to fight him. The negotiations went pretty smooth considering that it was Floyd.

And Mayweather was calling Shane out back in like 06 when Shane was knocking Vargas out. Mayweather called Shane out and Shane said that he needed to take a vacation and get his tooth fixed and that Mayweather could/should go fight Margarito. So actually it was Shane that was making excuses. Money Mayweather wanted him back in 2006.

What has Valero done to deserve a fight with Marquez? Since when did Valero become the man to beat at 135? Andriy Kotelnik > anyone that Valero beat and Khan beat him like it was nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if Demarco puts Valero away.

Are people on here really thinking PBF will win this fight or is it just that they believe Floyd will resort to his usual tactics and pot shot his way to victory?

Before you guys start throwing out the age factor, just take a look at Shane's last few fights and how well he was moving around in the ring like he was back in the 90's again. Dude literally has the eye of the tiger in the twilight of his career and it seriously reminds me of his lightweight days. Don't underestimate the "old man" people, thats all im saying.
