A very good friend of mine has a buddy who works at the LA Times and he has said that Florida and OSU will battle it out on Jan. 8th. Of course, this is only rumor for now becuase i have nothing to cite my claim, only some he-said shit. We will know for sure at 7 though, and you heard it here first.

Michigan already got beat. End of story. I don't give a shit about 'neutral site', '3-point game', etc. They had their shot. Boo-hoo.

Don't you think USC would like another shot at Texas from last year. It doesn't work that way. Cry me a river and drown in it.

Go Gators.

the fact is that UofM is a superior team to UofF, and basicly all this shit means, is they want a undefeated national title team.

S.O.S. - Compare them.
Number of bowl eligible teams they faced - Compare them.
SEC vs Big 10...no comparism.
A 'down' Auburn, Tennesee, or Georgia team is superior to a 'good' Big 10 team. And...Florida won their conference.

you could just as easily say that michigan only lost to a better ranked (1) opponent whereas florida was defeated by lesser opposition. who showed better in those respective losses?

Mark it down right now, take OSU and the points...I don't care how fucking big the spread is. OSU wins this game by at least 20.

edited to add the spread is 8. 8 is FREE FREE FREE FREE money waiting to be had right there.

Florida's O doesn't compare to Michigan's (it's too inconsistent), and they have no D to speak of where as Michigan again is pretty good on that side. So if OSU was able to throw over 30 on a good wolverines defesne what do you think they will do to a very medicore Gators D?

I also like the over on this one as well, at 48.

You are talking about that superior Georgia team that should have lost to an oh so good 2 win Colorado buffaloes...at home none the less.

michigan the better team every1 sayin it and who cares they had their "chance" just because they played em earlier this season and lost doesnt mean you should rule out the true 2nd best team in the nation and rob em of their shot...

Sorry dukes, but you are WRONG.

Florida has one of the best D's in the nation and has been said to be the FASTEST. The whole reason they are where they are at is becasue their D has kept them in the games, and the offense has done JUST enough.

Michigan allowed MORE points per game than Florida, and Florida had a TOUGHER schedule.

Michigan allowed 14.3 per game
Florida allowed 12.7 per game

On the offensive side:

Michigan scored 30.2 points per game
Florida scored 28.8 points per game

Michigan scored 1.4 more points a game and allowed 1.6 MORE points a game. Hmmm...thats a .2 difference in favor of Florida.

Florida's scondray is vicous. The combination of Reggie Nelson and Ryan Smith combine for 14 picks, leads the nation for a FS and SS combo. Florida is also tied for 3rd int he nation for picks with 20. Michigan has 12. Michigan, however, has the best rush defense in the nation. Florida is 6th. Michigan does hold the edge in sacks, they are 2nd in the nation.

One thing that Michigan definelty takes the cake in, is FG kicking. Florida has one of the worst kickers in tha naiton in Hetland.

All in all though, the teams seem pretty even to me. And since Florida [layed the harder schedule, they deserve to be number 2 and play OSU.

I stand by what I said, Florida has given up more points when it counted! They barley squeeked by in games they should have dominated. And that defesne sure showed up the past 2 games.

Sec has good teams dont get me wrong, but when it comes to a completely balance team like OSU & Michigan there is no comparrison.

I also stand by my statement OSU covers the spread EASILY! Florida's D will not stop OSU, and they have no O to go up against that good OSU d.

When it counted? What does that mean? How about when Ball St put up 26 against Michigan and almost LOST? How about when they only scored a measley 17 points against Northwestern, a team that LOST to a Div1-AA school? They did blow out Notre Dame (who we all know is overrated) and C. Michigan (and they won the MAC), so ill give them the "when it counts" award I guess, even though both games were EARLY in the year (2nd and 3rd games).

Florida played 4 ranked teams this year. They beat West Carolina, UCF, and So Miss by big margins like they were supposed to. They beat South Carolina by 1 point. Guess who is SC's coach? Wow, imagine that! Understandable why it was close.

And if you REALLY wanna get crazy, I can take out the SoS if you want.

In polls i posted by BCS committee offcials, 3 of the 4 ranked Florida with a tougher schedule than Michigan. The 4th had Michigan ranked 13th and Florida ranked 19th

SEC is regarded as the TOUGHEST conference in the NATION. THey have MORE teams with BETTER records. The Big 10 had a DOWN year this year. So im confused by this statement as well.

I also stand by my statement OSU covers the spread EASILY! Florida's D will not stop OSU, and they have no O to go up against that good OSU d.
Even though Florida has one of, if not THE, fastest D in the country. What makes you so sure? As I showed in the stats, Florida only scored 1.4 points LESS than Michigan.

Confused by what...the teams are strong yes, but not very well balanced. like OSU & Michigan are. Like the example of Georgie...uh not a strong team at all. and some are awesome on d average on o or awesome on o average on d, where as as a whoe Michigan and OSU are good on both sides. Of course we will never know but I think both OSU & UM would have finished with the same records in that conference.

The Ball State game is really the only michigan win that was in doubt, the other games were pretty much never in doubt. where as Florida could have lost another 2 or 3 games.

I watched that SEC championship game and I admit I don't watch that conference much, but if that was the best 2 teams they had to offer....wow. It took trick plays against bad defenses to score those points.

Speed kills yes, but give me the good skill position players over the speed anyday. Smith I think will have a field day on Florida where as the OSU D will have a field day against both Gator qb's.

The only reason, and I say this in all seriouness, that Florida is in the game is because the majority of voters and coaches didn't want to see a rematch. If the michigan loss came against a lesser school but never played OSU I almost guarantee it would be UM vs OSU.

Florida is in it only on that basis. If UM & OSU never played most coaches would put michigan ahead of Florida, but since they already played it is hard for people to look objectivly at #2 & #3 when they don't want to have a rematch happen to "taint" the polls or BCS.

I am not trying to take anything away from Florida at all, but the 2 best teams are not playing I guess that is what I am trying to say.

As you know I am a UM fan so I hate OSU like I hate the Raiders, but if OSU would have lost to UM I would be saying the same thing...they deserve a 2nd chance. When it comes to the championship game I want to see the 2 BEST teams.

Everyone seems to be in favor of a playoff right...well if we had a playoff UM & OSU could have faced eachother, why does that seem right in that scenario but not in the BCS???

It doesn't make sense.

OK i see what you are saying. BUt my point is, the BIG 10 was DOWN this year, so you had more shitty teams in the Big 10 than in the SEC.

You obviously didnt watch the game against Penn State.

I watched that SEC championship game and I admit I don't watch that conference much, but if that was the best 2 teams they had to offer....wow. It took trick plays against bad defenses to score those points.
LOL.Again, Florida doesnt have a "bad defense". I dont know WHY you keep referring to it as such. And so you know, Arkansas puts up 30 a game, Florida held them to 28. Trick plays are what you use when a defense is STIFFLING a offense.

And also so you know, Forida soesnt run"trick plays". Those are set plays in ther playbook, the same plays Meyer used at Utah. Its part of his spread.

Speed kills yes, but give me the good skill position players over the speed anyday. Smith I think will have a field day on Florida where as the OSU D will have a field day against both Gator qb's.
Leak has broken a bunch of Weurffels records in his tennor at Florida. Although he makes some mistakes (like throwing off his back foot), he is a good QB. How is he not "skilled"?

And were really ARE fighting a "war" in Iraq.

Youre right. I mean. lets forget that Florida had a harder schedule than Michigan and beat 4 ranked teams. What was I thinking!

I am not trying to take anything away from Florida at all, but the 2 best teams are not playing I guess that is what I am trying to say.
Actually, thats EXACTLY what youre doing. Even though Michigan and Florida are EVENLY matched stats wise and Florida played a TOUGHER schedule, you still think that Michigan should go. And who isyour favorite college fotball team? Surprise, surprise! So it seems that YOU are biased in your thinking, and I dare you to tell me different.

Heres another news flash for ya, im a SEMINOLE fan, and i STILL think Florida deserves a shot over Michigan. How abou them apples?

As you know I am a UM fan so I hate OSU like I hate the Raiders, but if OSU would have lost to UM I would be saying the same thing...they deserve a 2nd chance. When it comes to the championship game I want to see the 2 BEST teams.
See above. Florida and OSU are the best 2 teams. You can make a CASE for Michigan, but either of them would be a perfect fit.

Everyone seems to be in favor of a playoff right...well if we had a playoff UM & OSU could have faced eachother, why does that seem right in that scenario but not in the BCS???
There are may reasons why coahces dont WANT a playoff system. I just read an article on WHY it would be hard to manuever, Ill have to dig it up. I agree that the BCS system is still flawed, this year is no different. HOWEVER, it was a TOUGH year to decipher becuase there were a BUNCH of one loss teams and one POWERHOUSE.

And what if Florida wins? Will you eat your crow accordingly? Cus im gonna be here to let everyone know that just like football, any given SATURDAY is always possible.

only 2 things to respond 2...lol

I wasn't talking about leak as opposed to a whole team, when I said I would rather have more skill than speed.

And I will eat crow, I always do if my teams lose, that's not a problem. Will you the same?

Absolutely. We are all grown ups here, for the most part.
