Welcome to hell my friend, life is gonna suck bad for you first year is the worst. The second and third year are bad in the avenue of finding uot you got passed up for a job because of it or they wont even interview you by honestly answering you have one. I'm just glad for myself that the negititive effects of my DUI will be over in 2 months as long as i never get another one again.
Off top your looking at a 1300 dollar fine (they increase it every year) 700 dollars to take i think 3 months of classes and a weekend of work furough (do the time instead a day in county is better than 2 days cleaning up open fields) and license suspended for 6 months, dont be like me and drive anyways. I got caught and had to pay another 350 bucks whats lame is my suspension was up i just hadn't renewed my license yet. I think 5 grand is a little higher than id expect, it might depend on the county, i got mine in San mateo county in 2006. Maybe in the east bay its worse. I just know in Arizona they use your nuts as dice if you drink and drive. I hardly ever have any fun anymore unless its at my own house or somewhere where i can crash for the night an not drive. DUI is a fuckin nightmare
Its a self inflicted wound though, no one is gonna feel bad for you.
