I also noticed, the download portion with the download manager thing, works sooooooooo much faster, theres barely any lag compared to v2, this is my favorite part of the new shit
Nah, a portable application is the entire application in one folder so you don't have to install it. It's a standalone application basically. That way you won't delete any of your settings and you can also put the folders on a USB drive and take it anywhere that does or doesn't have Firefox and just plug in your drive and run it without installing it.
Hey Tony on a side note, have they not enabled the ability to install different themes in the beta? I DLd the extension that was supposed to bypass compatibility but I still am not able to look at themes

Well FF3 has a different format, so even if you did override them, it wouldn't work right. I think if you want to try you have to use FF2 and right>download the theme .jar file and drag it to the extensions windows in FF3.
edit: or do this, I just tried it and it works.
Type about:config into Firefox's address bar and click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button.
Right-click anywhere. Choose New>Boolean. Make the name of your new config value extensions.checkCompatibility and set it to false.
Make another new boolean pair called extensions.checkUpdateSecurity and set the value to false.
Good shit I hate the new style bar. I was surprised that Fire Fox 3 is noticeably faster than 2 I figured it would be a little faster but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I was getting frustrated with the old version too because it would crash if I had left the browser open for a long time.
