I got a 68 on my EFC (expected family contribution) I claimed independent on my fafsa. I'm curious to know if that 68 is out of 100. From what I know, the lower the EFC the more money I will receive. I also didn't file my taxes last year because i was exempt from doing so. I made under $4000.00. So Who can tell me the deal?

I didnt work that much man. Laugh all you want. I'm not even trippin'. I'm looking for answers not disrespectful people to mock me. Atleast i'm not the one taking a 4 hour class while being drunk and complaining. You are by far the lowest common denominator with no common sense.

um, to tell u the truth, i think thats out of dollars, but i could be wrong. when i filed my fafsa, (cuz im from a single parent home) that it was like 2000 or something. i think it means how much ur family can be expected to contribute towards your education per year.

Its 68 dollars.......with that they will determine your need using this formula : Cost of Attendance - EFC = Need ......

That EFC guarantees you a Pell Grant (Up to 4050 per year/2025 per semester) and possibly some other free money.....how much money you get also depends on your enrollment status (full time = most money possible)....

Hit me up if you got any other ?'s...

Right on Rekz!!1 this info really helped! So i'm assuming i'm going to get $1000 per semester if I enroll 1/2 time. Since i qualify for F.A. am I automatically eligible for Governments Fee Waiver?

Yeah I am broke as fuck! I have family support buddy! but I had to cut it loose! I can't live off my parents no more. That's why I decided to move to Omaha, Nebraska. And I took that whole year off after the spring semester. Now i'm back on my feet, well almost, but eventually i'll get there. I just got this shit job at this call center while going to school. So I gotta do what I gotta do.

Yea if you only enroll 1/2 time you will only get 50% of the maximum Pell money.....Are you talking about a State government fee waiver ?

PS. Hows Nebraska? I got into the University of Nebraska-Lincoln but ended up not attending.....they offered me a cool financial aid package though....including a $2000 "New Nebraskan" Schorlarship which was just for moving there....

Let's just say Omaha, Nebraska ain't nothing like the Bay. It's cold- under 45 degrees most of the time and I see white people. Clubs are boo boo. however, they are real lenient on dress code i.e. shoes, tee shirts and sometimes caps are fine. $5 for a shot and $2-3 for a beer. Average height for a chick is approximately 5'7-5'8. There's also a lot of atheletes here.

North Omaha is ghetto, South is mostly hispanics, West is where all the stores and shops are, East is developing and the most expensive area. This place has very little urban in it.

Hmm overall i'm getting used to it. Thanks for asking. I live East next to UNO and Creighton.

Right on for the info i'm going to a community college for a year to brush up on my math skills and then I plan on taking the SAT's. I live really close to UNO.
