@Bammer - Im the last person to root for Oakland. I dont know if the A comment was directed towards me or not. Harden is a great pitcher anyways. My team is Anaheim, born and raised here...since 82. Jim Abbot, Dave Winfeild, Wally Joyner, etc...

@Panther - To me, stats don't mean everything. It's who does what and when they do it. Like Tim Salmon and Bengie Molina...stats arent the greatest byt they are clutch hitters. Glen Rice in basketball, clutch. Stats jump up and down on a yearly basis.

Follow me on this. 40 HRs can come from anywhere. There are so many factors to throw into it. Team is leading or is down by 8 runs in the 7th. Opposing team puts in a no namer from the bullpen..crack..a home run. A batter can have a full year of gimmee pitches or picthes that the pitcher slopped on. Maybe Im just brainwashed from taking too many math and stat classes in the past.

Anyways...Im not hating on the Mariners. My one person single opinion believes that picking up two batters, wont lift the team to a Championship.

Yeah I follow you but it doesn't mean you'd rather sign Tim Salmon and Bengie Molina as opposed to say, a Lance Berkman or Magglio Ordonez I don't care what those guys averages w RISP is.

And 40 HRs can't come from anywhere, you have to be damn good to hit 40 HRs in the Major Leagues. I know there are the Brady Anderson's of the world, but chances are if you are good enough to hit 40 HRs you are the guy you want up in these clutch situations you're describing.
