2 Gold Glovers dont do much when the rest of the team errors all over the field.

Seatlle's defense is Class B and thats fact.
You do not know anything man. Defensive question marks: Lopez at SS, possibly Ibanez in left field. The defense will be in the top half of the AL this year I guarantee that.

I understand your hostility toward the A's 714,but to use false claims like you actually are capable of rating a defense is hilarious.Seattle was 6th(top half) in total errors in the AL.Close to 1/4 of those came from 3rd base(25),and Beltre, who will play there daily, only had 10(same as gold glover Rolen) all year for the Dodgers. That would put Seattle around 1 or 2 among all AL teams,so your point is garbage.

ON THE REAL THO BELTRE'S BEST SEASON WAS LAST YEAR(HOW COINCIDENTAL THAT ON THE FINAL YEAR OF HIS CONTRACT HE'S BALLIN).FOR SOME REASON I DONT THINK HE'S GONNA BE PUTTING UP THOSE NUMBER'S AGAIN ANYTIME SOON.THEY STILL DONT MATCH UP WITH ANAHEIM.POWER FOR POWER, AND THEIR PITCHING STAFF ISNT TOO IMPRESSIVE.PLUS THE ONLY REASON THE ANGELS GAVE UP GLAUS WAS CAUSE THE KID THEY HAD COMING TO THIRD FOR THEM WAS LEADING THE MINOR LEAGUES IN HOMERUNS AND IS A STRAIGHT POWER HITTER.SO THERE BANKING MCPHERSON IS GONNA FILL THOSE SHOES AT A CHEAPER PRICE.WHICH ENABLES THEM TO GO AFTER PITCHING.(WHICH ALWAYS DOMINATES HITTING)

My point is on dot.
You guys chocked when it counted the most (Couldnt hold leads and couldn't close worth a damn).

Stats are nothing.
Just like Compusbox for boxing. Its not about the year end, its about per round / game.

You guys pick up two nice hitters and act like its game over..you own the AL West. Now thats hilarious...

He will put up half of those numbers. He was a NL player batting against NL pitchers. AL pitchers will stream by him.

Anaheim got rid of a lot of players...and signed a lot of new ones. Seems like a whole new team. Our pitching staff isn't solid.

No no Bammer made valid points, you haven't really made any. Stats are not nothing, especially in baseball. Over 162 games numbers don't really lie, you clearly had no idea that SEA was 6th in the AL in defense last year.

Now about us strutting around acting like it's game over, yeah I agree a lot of Mariners fans are doing that but it's because we are so excited that finally M's management stepped up and did something bold. This is new ground for us, our people don't just go out and get Vladimir Guerrero, Jose Guillen and Alex Rodriguez.

Of course I and most others don't feel the west is by any means sealed. But they'll atleast have a chance, possibly a very good one.

I agree...they definately brought some more life to the team.

I don't know why they have been deprived of high roll players. They are owned by Nintendo, if I am correct.

AL West is tough, its going to be a good one...

Baseball and Compubox are apples and oranges.Fielding stats don't lie.PERIOD

"You guys chocked when it counted the most (Couldnt hold leads and couldn't close worth a damn)."

^When? What games are you referring to?We never had leads to blow, our offense is what put us in the hole in the first place,so again your point is garbage. You got one foot in the water, but instead of gettin out you fell all the way in up to your neck.Save face buffoon, and quit acting like you consintrated on the Mariners blowing leads because of there defense.

Nobody said the M's are winning the west, you just got your Boy-Shorts in a bunch cuz we're excited about the potential of 80 HR's from our corners.

Good to see you around Aff1l1at3d.

Nobody in the game of baseball can turn it off n on because it's a contract year. You might play hurt, but you don't decide when to hit doubles and turn double plays. That comical.

Have yall ever played thee sport??I mean...why would you try to not get hits?lololol

Yes. We don't know that either!!! That and the fact that the Mariners have been in the top 3 in attendance every year since Safeco opened. Mariners fans have felt cheated for a few years b/c the front office never seemed to return their investment. Now they have, they put their money where their mouth is that's why we're all so excited. Problem now is that it may be too late...It would've been nice to see this in 2000 and 2001.

Yeah like in any sport, those who play the game have an understanding people who are just spectators for life don't have.

Man who does he play for? He's an older guy, only league I know older guys can play in around SEA is the PSSBL which I played in last summer (it was horseshit, a little too easy for a 21-year-old who plays college ball, but fun).

Not sure...but his squad went to Florida for some tournament a few months back...

Stats are BS. Im not going to explain it again. You think the managers really give a damn about stats. No. They look at who did what and when they did it, then re-build the team from there. Overall team stats are for sideline fans who watch highlights on ESPN.

Your offense was not a big factor. Your team got SMASHED on. Its not like most of your season was lost to one runners. Im talkin 10 to 2, 8 to 1. Dont play it all on your offense. Overall Seattle is a sorry ass team, and still is. The only reason they are even talked about is Ichiro.

Potential 80HRs? You've got to be joking. You are looking at 45-50 combined, and be happy about it.

Lets just wait and see. Mariners will finish dead last...AGAIN. Knocked out of any playoff hope by September. This happens everytime you guys get a new player or two, you think your whole team is going to turn around.

See you next season.

You never really explained anything in the first place.

"Your offense was not a big factor. Your team got SMASHED on. Its not like most of your season was lost to one runners. Im talkin 10 to 2, 8 to 1. Dont play it all on your offense. Overall Seattle is a sorry ass team, and still is. The only reason they are even talked about is Ichiro."

SEA averaged 4.3 runs per game, allowed 5.08 runs per game. We had a few asswhooping 10-1s but c'mon man not even close to being average.

"Lets just wait and see. Mariners will finish dead last...AGAIN. Knocked out of any playoff hope by September. This happens everytime you guys get a new player or two, you think your whole team is going to turn around."

No it doesn't because we've never gotten a new player or two, this is a first.

Remember this bitch?

Have fun waving your rally monkey this summer.

Ha..whats that pic of? It just says hosted by Tripod...let me see what you got?

This season, everything will be shown.
Your only hope is a Wild Card spot and that is still far fetched.
Fuckin a the pic is of Luis Sojo standing above Mark Langston when he hit that "inside the park grandslam" aka double and 2-base error.

I'm not opposed to you saying the Angels are going to win the West, I think they deserve to be the favorite. Finley was a great pickup and I think they've landed Orlando Cabrera as well, another good pickup.

What I do not like is you making ludicrous statements such as "stats don't matter in baseball" and not supporting your arguments at all. Stats do matter when you 1) replace .215, 10 and 41 with .334, 48 and 121 2) replace a revolving door at first base with .272, 45 and 124 (Sexson's last healthy year). Get real here.
