lol @ the Walter & Smith.....

remember taht Smith was a 1st round pick and this is his 2nd season starting.. compared to Walters 3rd round pick and 2nd game starting..... Walter looked poised out there and was putting the ball on spot except for that 1 bad INT.....He should have hit Moss in the endzone 2 times if it wasn't for that dropped pass... I don't understand the Raiders coaching.. Why take out a young QB who is devoloping all because of a bad play that Jordan should have reacted to..... But yaah comparing Walter to Smith is way too sooon. just look at Smiths #s as his first time starting

And you remember that Walter has an offensive cast that is 10x better than the squad Alex Smith had last year. The line is suspect but they played well today against a terrible SF pass rush, but the Niners' line last year was just as bad.

Who's fault is it that he wasn't good enough to get drafted higher? That's right, his own.

So did Smith. But Smith's INT wasn't a bad pass, it was just a good play by the raider defender.

The Niner D isn't shit, but they still fucked Walter up. The raider D is supposed to be good right? I mean, that's what all of you have been saying.. They couldn't stop Smith & company.

Keep in mind this is both players' second season in the NFL. Smith is younger. It's not his fault Walter wasn't good enough to get a shot last year. Just focus on who played better today. Smith looked way better, and he will continue to look better as time goes on. I'm not saying Walter will suck ass, but he will not be as good as Alex Smith.

I see your points but I cant see how you would base it on things like that...
I'd see more of a reasonable logic if the players where starting at the same time than 2 compare a 2nd game starter.. Smith gots his games under his belt while Walter is still tryin to get thru it..But Smith should be better after all he was a 1st round pick.. he's far from great but at this point and experience he should be better than Walter.... I do think Walter will be a steal for being a 3rd round pick tho.. The kid just needs to gain more experience and try not to be too predictable with his throws... He's got a bright future as a QB in this league tho.. His WRs need to get on the same page.... But who knows what Shell will do with the whole Brooks situation.. I would leave Walter as starter since I believe he will develop to be a leader of this team once his time comes

what has walter done dat smith hasnt ?
What has either of them accomplished? They both look like they can be championship caliber qbs. I'm just sayin this was Walters 2nd nfl start, he didn't look bad just made rookie mistakes. Smith also looks good, didn't make too many mistakes, but he also is more experienced. Give them another year or two to say who's better.

What do you guys not understand? Last year was a waste for Alex Smith. Who did he have to throw to? The only thing he experienced last year was how bad a QB can look when he has nobody surrounding him. All he had was Frank Gore, and Barlow started ahead of Gore. Walter has Randy Moss, and that alone makes it 10 times easier for him. Moss half-assing it still beats an injured Arnaz Battle and Brandon Lloyd. And you fools are acting like Alex started all 16 games last season. It was only 7 games, and they didn't pass the ball much in that span. You guys are acting like Smith has been in the league longer than Walter, they both started last year.

He will be a better QB, mark my words.

But that's besides the point. Where are all these raider fans who were talking that shit about "we'll see what happens come 10/08" at?? 10/08 has come, and the raiders are still winless.
