YOU MY FRIEND HAVE NIGHT TERRORS!!!!
THIS IS A STORY OUT OF A PSYCHOLOGY BOOK I OWN CALLED "THE MIND" BY RICHARD M. RESTAK, M.D.
IT STARTS OUT CHAPTER 9 "THE VIOLENT MIND."
One night in August 1985, Colin Kemp, a thirty-three-year-old salesman in Caterham, England, went to sleep as usual. About two hours later he encountered two Japanese soldiers in his bedroom. They began to chase him. One soldier had a knife, another a gun. Although Kemp ran veary quickly, he wasn't fast enough to lose his pursuers, who eventually cornered him. Convinced he was about to die, Kemp wrestled with the soldier carrying the knife. The other soldier then approached him with a gun and aimed it at Kemp's head. Kemp Tripped him to the ground, put his hands around his neck and, and squeezed as hard as he could. Despite these efforts the soldier slipped away, aimed the gun at Kemp, and fired. As the smoke poured from the gun, Kemp awoke in a panic, drenchedin sweat. In terror, he turned to his wife, who was lying in bed beside him. She was dead. Kemp had strangled her, and not the Japanese soldier.
At the trial nine months later, Kemp claimed that he had been asleep when he killed his wife. He pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder and stated that he intended to kill the Japanese soldier, not his wife. Psychiatrists testifying on his behalf told the jury that Kemp had suffered from night terrors: a sudden arousal from sleep, accompanied by intense fear coupled with appropriate physical altercations sush as accelerated heart rate, rapid breathing, profuse perspiration, loud piercing screams, and, most important to Kemp's case, physical movement.
On two previous occasions prior to the fatal event, Kemp had experienced night terros. Both times he was being pursued in his sleep. In one instance he had punched at his wife, who awakened to ask what was happening. The second time he kicked her in the back.
Strangling someone to death is more elaborate and sustained activity than pushing orkicking someone. Is it possible that an act such as Kemp's-strangling a person to death-could really happen during sleep? It is known that night terrors often merge into sleep walking episodes,, during wich complex acts may be carried out. Sleepwalkers have been known to get dressed, talk on at length, get into their automobiles, and drive short distances. So why should it not be possible when asleep to strangle one's mate?
THAT SHIT CAN BE REAL SERIOUS GO TALK TO SOMEONE A.S.A.P.
