El 7 mares? that place takes forever too get the food, the food is avg. but NO! MEXICAN Joint comapres too The Mecca and also down the road is C&C BBQ. some southern style shit.

I do know of this BBQ spot in San Jose, i forgot what its called i think its near Tully or somewhere on the eastside. i cant remember, but thats the spot.

Frisco has some ill mexican spots too, down in the mission theres this one joint everyone goes too i think its El Salv type food.... i was just there last week, drunk as fuck, this bitch i was with bought me that white shit, its a spanish drink... i dunno what it was it was good though.

celia is koo a lil expensive,but naw el 7 mardes is shittin on la mecca , i'm sorry but that gravy sauce they call enchilda sauce aint cuttin it. 7 mardes also got hella good sea food too . also in hayward theres la pinita foods good as fuck there too.......

anyone know of any taco trucks in Livermore? even though i live closer to Pleasanton, i won't bother asking if there are any trucks there because there are NO mexicans in Pleasanton

If youre up by the campus, try La Fiesta, 2444 Telegraph, across the street from Codys

also, IB Hoagies on Durant - the mushroom steaks are bomb. Fat Slice is good too. If youre more into the salad/Sandwich places - there are two places on the "Ralieghs" block which serve some big ass salads and some salad/sandwich combos. Given my info is from last year and past experiences, those are the things i remember.

El Taquito - Hayward - Mission near A St.
I've been going to this place for over 20 years. They have the usual standard Mexican dishes, but go for the tacos. Best carne asada and tongue tacos. Great prices, open till way late, service ok. Try the red chile.

Val's - Hayward - Kelly at B St.
Awesome

El Sombrero - Berkeley - Shattuck at University (across from McD's)
Very yummy burritos, the chile colorado is a must try. Prices/service ok.

Thai Restaurant - Berkeley - Bancroft at Oxford
Don't know the name of this place, but the food is grub. Prices ok, service good.

Gregore - Berkeley - Cedar near Shattuck
This is strictly take out. They change the menu every month, a mixture of french and california cuisine. Prices can reach $20 per dish, but food is awesome.

Pupuseria San Salvador - Oakland - 7th St
Right across the street from W. Oakland BART station. Place is tiny, tables are shared. Cheap, great tasting food.

Pico Paco - Oakland - Telegraph near 51st St
cheap, good. Try the chile.

Dominico's - Danville - Hartz Ave.
BEST sandwiches. Try the cranberry and wild rice salad.

Osha Thai Noodle - San Fran - Geary at Leavenworth
Love this place. Open till 3am, prices/service ok. Try the spicy greens beans. Best Thai.

A la Turka - San Fran - Geary at Larkin
They make the some great tasting bread all day every day. Their daily specials not only taste great but are healthy and homey. Prices/service ok. Try the lamb sandwich.

Alioto's - San Fran - Fisherman's Wharf
There are lots of Italian/Seafood restaurants in the city, but this is a great one for that area. The food is great, service can be cool. Prices mid $20's and up.

Ritz Carlton - San Fran - Stockton near Sacramento
Save up some money, take someone(s) that you love, and put on some nice clothes. This spot is beautiful, they have a harp player! They pair the food perfectly with wine. Menu changes according to season. A group of 3 with 3-4 courses can easily reach $500.
