How do you guys usually draft? I'm doing my first fantasy league, and Im not sure in which order to pick the positions. I have a general idea on the players, but I don't know when to draft what position first, second, etc...

there are alot of places like yahoo and espn that have good resources that could help you, but in general start with rbs, try 2 or three first unless you are at the end of you draft like pick 6-10 and get manning. you can always get a decent TE or QB in later rounds such as 3,4, or 5

Rd 1 = RB
Rd 2 = RB

not always

esp this year....rb's can be found in 3rd and 4th this year

You are better off taking a Maning, Palmer, Chad Johnson, etc...then you are someone like duece mccallister, jamal lewis, edge james.

your form was true in years past but thats changing now.

It depends on your scoring system.......Most people like to solidify their 1-2 RB punch and then draft a QB or WR in the 3rd round. I'm going with RB, RB and possibly another RB then WR. I like drafting my QB's in the 5th to 6th round since i'm in a RB/WR league.

Ok thanks guys. When do u take a DEF then, after every other main position (besides K) is filled?
Bears and Ravens go 6th or 7th round, if you have your 2 RBs, 2/3WRs, QB and TE set you can go for one of the two, otherwise you can wait and stack a little bit more and take the raiders or vikings in a later round. I waited way too long in my money league last year and ended up with the Seahawks, who weren't that bad.

Make sure you keep track of bye weeks, last night I did a draft and my first two picks were Addai and Henry, and later I realized they both have the same bye week so I had to pick up Benson and Norwood in later rounds and it ended up fucking up the rest of my draft.

**I'm used to a flex league with a RB/WR option**

I don't agree. When you can get a featured back in the first two rounds that is going to score you 50+ points more per season than a top slot receiver get the RB. Especially since WR are a dime a dozen and the difference in points between a number 1 receiver and a number 3 can be like 30 pts per season.

I'd take an Addai, Edgerrin James, Thomas Jones RB core with a Larry Fitzgerald, Plaxico Burress, Deion Branch WR group with a QB like Farve or Rothlisberger than one that looks like QB- Palmer, RB's Gore, Chester Taylor, and Jamal Lewis and WR's Chad Johnson, Joey Galloway, Terry Glenn.

Agree ^^^

It all depends on how many teams are in the league, how the league is set-up and scoring system.

If starters are 1 QB, 1 RB, 3 WR, etc and 16 teams then RB-WR is a good 1-2 punch. There's alot of variables that go into a strategy. Almost always take a RB first though.
