irvin is one of my alll time nfl favorites and definitely a rare bright spot amongst the so called "analysts" on that network.

as an analyst, he was so so, but it was his personality that brought excitement to the broadcasts. I love chris berman and tom jackson. the others have their moments, some more than others. I'd like to see J.A. Adande get more TV time. my favorite line by him was "I call Nash Mr. Drummond, because I haven't seen a white man take such good care of black people since "Diff'rent Strokes."

He brought personality and entertainment to the programs he was on. He wasn't much of an analyst and he had clear biases (yet he didn't try to hide them) but he was a bright spot on the show.

Better than coach Ditka.

I was surprised to see someone mention they liked Stewart Scott! His annoying level grows exponentially every year. Every time you think he can’t get any worse he manages to top himself.
