I thought 'Em's music kept getting better and better up to the point of "the Eminem Show" and the "8 Mile" soundtrack. The Eminem Show is by far my favorite album of his. But after that, it got way to commercial sounding and he kept recycling that same sample over and over again when he was producing.
On another note, the album "Cheers" that Eminem produced for Obie Trice was the shit, IMO. I don't know of many people (personally) that have even heard the album. I'm sure a lot of you here have, though. Obie Trice was
FAR BETTER than I ever thought possible. Plus, the album has some great guest appearances, thanks to Mr. Mathers and Dr. Dre, no doubt.
It's a very, very solid album. To this day, when a friend asks me what would be a good album to pick up (that they know I have heard, but they haven't), I always say "Cheers" by Obie Trice. :classic:
