Iono man, the one time I saw Tech he spit everything. I was right up against the stage. He wasn't lip synching at all. And I've seen 40 twice and he wasn't lip synching at all either. He puts on a sick ass show. Turf Talk on the other hand fucked up a few times and you could tell easily that he was lip synching his entire set. It was pretty disappointing.

ive seen tech 3 times. 1st time he was bustin, but the last two he only actually rapped 1 or 2 songs. im positive. i was watching.

ive seen e 40 twice. ive never seen him lip synch at all, but he gets so winded that he only raps like every other line and tries to get the crowd to fill in like half the song. maybe thats why he started lip synching cuz he was fuckin up his songs and gettin too tired tryna keep up. aint nothin wrong with it really homie. as long as you can go in the studio and make tight shit is all that matters. this is rap music. if it was r&b, thats a totally different thing. the only reason people even go to an r&b show is to see if you can really sing. feel me?? i dont give a fuck if one of my favorite rappers is a fat fuck that drinks and smokes weed and has no breath. what do you expect?! you ever seen footage of 2pac? same thang. he didnt lip synch, but he sounded like he was gonna pass out after 3 or 4 songs...

Both times I saw The Great Mac Dre live in concert he was rappin over studio cds... but like the other cat said, the vocals mixed down a little. although MD's studio cs was pretty "hearable"

I think it is something fundamentally wrong when a rapper has to rap over his own pre-recorded vocals on live shows. TV shows with one or two songs are one thing but I think it's something that should be avoided at whole concerts. A rapper should be able to perform his lyrics without having to rely on a voice in the background. It's a sign of weakness (or a need to go back to the gym), no matter what your name is and who you are. Unfortunately most rappers are doing just that nowadays but it annoys me at concerts or concert DVDs when I notice that recorded voice in the back. Big ups to rappers able to rap without pre-recorded help.
