So non-exclusive rights for $60 and exclusive rights for $1000

I'm guessing most rappers are spending the $60. Who wants to hear 10 different songs from no name rappers over the same exact beat?

What I don't get is how they offer the beat leased AND exclusive at the same time. I understand that when you purchase the exclusive rights that they will take the beat off the site and not sell it anymore, but what about all the people who paid to lease the beat?

Is it like renting a house that's for sale and they end up selling the house while you are living there so you get evicted? So the leased beats are no longer legal to use once it's sold exclusively?

As long as you purchase your lease prior to it being sold exclusively you have all the rights to release it on a limited basis. Exclusive license gets you your publishing rights and exclusivity to sell the track on an unlimited basis. If your not selling over 2,500 copies and not getting radio play then a lease will do the trick to build your fan base.

It ain't that bad ya'll. It's just too many artists doing the same music. No one is stepping out of the box and putting something together that people can genuinely relate to. And you have to know how to market yourself. The shit is really flooded so you have to be creative in how you really present yourself. The mixtape has been replaced by the online music video.
