thats a tough question that u cant really answer....if he was from somewhere else theres a big chance us bay fans would never have heard or been exposed to much of him, at the same time alot of his game and style is bay influence so if he wasnt from here his style wouldnt be the same.....too many what if's wit this question

No...40's style has been seeping into our brains for years and I would even go as far to say if 40's hustle wasn't so strong and the bay damn near wouldn't like 40 anymore...40 the personality is universal, but 40 the rapper isn't. He is (as a rapper) the king of being a regional artist, but here is the difference...40 doesn't have a production style that supports his style...Lil Jon was a regional artist, but he had a style of music (not of rapping) that moved people...that is what turned his regional appeal into a universal goldmine...In thinking about this and talking to other people across the country 40 is considered (as an artist) a joke or novel at best...If I was to hear lets say the 40 of Colorado or Kansas I would probally be like "who is this...yall bump this shit out here?" We have been raised on 40 so we feel him...But I am sure 40 with all of his millions could give a damn about my opinion.

yeah...i used to not like 40...he was the least favorite artist of mine, and only recently (in the past few years) have i come to really like him, and its not because of his bay areaness, its cuz of his music.

but, if 40 was from ny he would not have the hunger of an indie, nor tha skrilla
and you would have to take away all the local influnace, and man take out the mobb sound
(only cause it's a no. ca thing) and see what you got left?

but on the other hand if you think of the politics of the music world, if it ain't from la. or nyc (at the time the south was all about the geto boys and them only from a media stand point) it would not crack!

so let's think we would be seeing 40 rep another dam near un thought of city (when i tell folks he's from tha v they have no idea it's not la, sd, sf hell i happy when they tell me they heard of sacramento, )
