DRAKE VISITED LIL WAYNE AT RIKERS ISLAND ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE DRAKES ALBUM HIT STORES AND WAYNE TOLD HIM THAT I EXPECT YOUR ALBUM TO DOUBLE WHAT CARTER 3 DID IN IT'S FIRST WEEK OUT... DRAKE SAID HE WAS PRETTY INSECURE ABOUT HIS ALBUM CAUSE HE STATED HIMSELF THAT HIS BUZZ WAS DYING DOWN AND THAT PEOPLE AREN'T BUYING CDS MUCH ANYMORE.. LOL

I'm surprised he did that many units EVEN with all the radio play he gets. Dude is not that tight and doesn't really rhyme about anything. I was over his singing and hooks about the 2nd song I heard from him. Just don't believe the hype

nah he came from money and it's well published, if he was to act like the next pac he would get shit out cause of his past on degrassi and shit. i bet if he could get away with it he would try to be all lil wayned out n shit, atleast he's smart enough to know that shit wouldnt fly. i been listening to his album all the damn time at my job and it's just pure trash, he's just a bland rapper thats getting waaaaaaayy too much recognition just because of the label he's on. wonder if recovery will do better

co-sign. People that don't know anything about hip hop think he's great because of what you have to compare him to as far as rappers on the radio and if that's what you're judging him by, you're right. I haven't heard a good rap song on the radio since before I can even remember.

Congratulations Drake!!!!!!!! Solid Debut!!!!!

Hip-Hop ain't falling off it's evolving......

I got kids and I'd rather support the kinda moves that Drake is making instead of SoulJa Boy Tell'em or Wocka Flocka Flame........

Drake is the future of the hip-hop....

*and all you haters trying to compare Drake to Tupac, ya'll must've forgot that Tupac's acting career took off waaaaaay before his music career........

Why do you listen to it all the time then?

I still haven't heard this album, nor do I want to.

I think maybe he works at a music store or some shit

and for the record, I'm feeling the album... and I know about hip hop and listen to more lyrical shit

I think Drake is decent lyrically, he's far from the best rapper out there, but he makes some good music IMO

I just listen to a little of everything, not everyone is gonna like Drake though... it is what it is

thats amazing in this day and age.
But he did have a higher buzz in the summer/fall of 09.
i think right as soon as you catch a buzz, you really need to jump on the oppertunity and release something immediately. Fuck waiting around. i find it funny that they got the energy to drop 100 mixtapes before an official album.

lol, Drake doesnt have to be the future. He did everything right is now getting rewarded for it. Its hard to get that much of a buzz and sell this many units these days. Its funny how people talk so negative about him, he aint no Chamillionaire but reminds me of him cuz he does his own hooks and that really helps to in separating yourself from others. I really wish he wasnt affiliated with Lil Wayne but thats obviously what really helped to get him where hes at.

I might be the only one here who never heard an entire song from him...
yea u are not alone. I never knew who drake was until I heard about that track he did with lil wayne, eminem and kanye. Real talk. I was like WTF is a drake and how did he get on a track with these cats. People always say "OMG you are hella late" well maybe thats because I havent listened to the radio in years and dont really give a fuck whats on the mainstream. If im listening to the radio, its 98.1 slappin Rick James "Mary Jane" real music.

But cant hate on his hustle. Thats good for him. he gettin paid. Oh yea and to the dude who said the future is Drake, KILL YOURSELF!
