If Drake is the future.. then
Nas was right! Hip Hop is DEAD!

What new artist would you put at the forefront of the rap game???????.......

Lil B, SoulJa Boy, Gucci Mane, Roscoe Dash, Wocka Flocka Flame, Tech N9ne, J-Diggs????????

Numbers don't like, for a debut album, Drake is shittin on everybody's favorite rapper.....

I'm only speaking on "new artists", not O.G.'s...........:ermm:

If im in the music BUSINESS, i'll rather have one diamond Brittany Spears album, than 20 albums by Messy Marv that may sell 5,000 units each. In my catalog

I'll rather be at a Drake concert with 5,000 screamin bad bitches, than 500 thugged out Yukmouth fans.......

Hip-Hop is the new Pop music, but the foundation will always be the underground indies......

People forget that the music business, is a BUSINESS. Don't let your personal feelings get in the way of getting your money.

@META4ICAL IT ISN'T ABOUT GANGSTER IMAGE OR ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THAT NATURE, I JUST DON'T THINK DUDE IS THAT GOOD....THE AUDIO TUNE IS ANNOYING ( NOT SURE IF HE DID IN ON THE ALBUM CUZ I HAVEN'T LISTENED), AND THE SUBJECT MATTER IS WEAK TO ME....I DON'T LIKE HIS MUSIC.....I RATHER LISTEN TO SLAUGHTERHOUSE, CANIBUS, EMINEM, ANYONE FROM THE WU-TANG CLAN, NAS, JAY-Z THEN THAT AND I WOULDN'T CLASSIFY THOSE ARTISTS AS MOB MUSIC......
@ mocheezkc I UNDERSTAND THAT HE'S MARKETING TO SOME OF THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT BUY ALBUMS ANYMORE HENCE THE MUSIC HE PUTS OUT......SHIT I DON'T HATE ON THE HUSTLE, I HOPE HE GETS RICH OFF THOSE FOLKS, BUT I DON'T LIKE THE MUSIC PERSONALLY......BUSINESS WISE DUDE IS MAKING THE RIGHT MOVES BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN I HAVE TO LIKE THE MUSIC, LISTEN TO THE MUSIC, OR ANOINT HIM THE FUTURE OF HIP HOP BECAUSE IMO, THERE IS PEOPLE WHO I CONSIDER BETTER THEN HIM.....

NOBODY couldv'e forseen the greatness that Tupac evolved into.

Just like nobody can forsee where this Drake movement is heading.....

I understand that Drake is not THAT good

I think he is overrated by a lot of people... but at the same time I think he's better than a lot of rappers... underground and mainstream both

I agree Drake is not as talented as the rappers you listed, but I think he is better than a lot of rappers that get plenty of love on the siccness

he has more talent than a lot of rappers in the Bay (not all, but a lot)

I don't think he's the future of hip hop, or the new best rapper alive, but he has some skills

if people don't like Drake that's fine... but don't act like his music is just for little teenage girls who listen to pop music... I mean why is that? because his music is SOFT? maybe somewhat, at least compared to a lot of other rap music... but so is r&b... and I listen to that... is r&b only for little teenage girls??

get what I'm saying?

it is what is... if you don't like Drake, that's fine... but don't knock the next man for liking something that you feel is pop music...

The future is hip hop that shit is in the works, people like Drake will be the next Jay-z'a though. Niggas who never tried to go through the struggle or really rap bout anything importnt, just about themselves and how tight they are, nd they're clever enough. I can't fuck with that because it's mediocre when jay and Drake have talent and fan base to rap some real shit.

Pac Div, wiz, B.O.B, shit like thaat is comin in the next 2 3 yrs and that's what hip hop is gonna be again the new De la souls, atcq, pharcydes etc.

Why do you listen to it all the time then?

I still haven't heard this album, nor do I want to.
i work in downtown boston where all these tight pants faggots come in and buy the shit, i play to show them it's out and then they ask so they purchase and it helps with my sales so my store who practically sells a dead technology can stay open another year. id rather listen to drake allday to make an extra couple grand at my work then listen to something that wont sell shit. and since em is out thats what we listen to know and thats atleast good.

I personally feel like Drake is here at a time when hip hop is terrible. I think there is and will be a resurgence in the hip hop sound we've enjoyed from 91-late 95. Most of the dudes that impress me are underground, heck, all of the are underground but that's how hip hop should be. It's not typical that an album like Nas' first cd was as accepted by the masses and sold well. We'll see it again. I think people are so tired of this watered down stuff. Drake is sorta clever, but nothing of any real consequence. He seems like a cool dude in interviews, but he would get shredded by many rappers out there right now. Women like him, some dudes do too, it is what it is

That's funny, the only dudes I see saying they like Drake's music are on the siccness. None of my homies dig his music. Only people I know outside of the siccness that feel his music are chicks. I'm not hating on him, his music is just not my cup of tea.
