Yeah...most jobs do...I don't think it would be a HUGE factor though...they are just trying to get an idea of your reliability.

Don't trip though man...I spoke to my boy @ Wells Fargo and he said its far from the determining factor of whether or not you get the position.

This is not true. I work for Citibank. My brother does to and has terrible credit. I mean fucked over and smashed into the ground credit. Keep yo head up and be positive. They run a backround check to see if you are ok with money. You cant have any fraud charges. Youll be coo. Watch. I had no credit and got hired at citi. Good luck man. Don't be discouraged. Be positive and tell them you want a chance to work for a great company and all that bullshit they wanna hear. Make sure if you have any priors though that you tell them. If you say your record is clean and they find otherwise, consider yourself canned. I have seen more people get canned for lying about thier record than anything. Never Has someone been canned for having bad credit. They understand that credit can go bad for alot of reasons not nessecarily because your a deadbeat. I bet you are not a deadbeat, but they rarely use the credit report for a yes or no on hiring. I have asked my boss about this before. I work with great people, but a lot of them have bad credit. I owe 4 g's and help credit card holders everyday. Even provide financial advice. lol

MOST employers do run a credit check...its a fact...thats why they ask you to sign the waiver giving them consent for a credit check ! But like I said...its far from the determining factor in whether or not you get the position.

Don't trip man ! And good luck w/ the job ! I'll be in your branch as soon as you get hired...look for me...I'll be wearing a black ski mask a black Members Only jacket and black rubber gloves !

The guiding factor for hire is thus: They run the credit check and see your total principal. If you can't pay it off with 25% of your salary over 2 years time, then you will not get the job.

I'm assuming you're the typical american who has less than $800 in debt, but still cannot comprehend the concept of saving money and would prefer to buy G Unit sneakers. This is unfortunate, but won't disqualify you.

Thats not true. This information is coming from a guy who made a thread titled "bananas". Come'on.

And to all4thabay, why not go to another bank if you owe wells fargo 500. How the fuck did you fuck up a checking account homie. That shit is hard to do.

Maybe it's just the place I work for.. I work for Wachovia bank and they didn't run a drug test on me. Didn't look at any of my prior jobs. I got in all based on my customer service skills.

I guess it all comes down to the individual bank and their hiring structure. They ask you questions.. make you fill out a form or two.. They do back ground checks to see if you have a record. ( I got finger printed, that was the only thing they did to me. No drug tests, as I said before.) But I do not think they run credit checks. I have no credit though, that I am aware of.

Compelling argument. Are you a law or university professor?
Worked for two banks. Yes, you ARE wrong.

P.s. I have been hired by two financial institutions before I starting teach integrated math-1.

This is funnier too.

Working as a teller doesn't qualify you to speak on hiring. Or a janitor.

Not a teller. I worked for a merchant account provider. Setup merchant accounts and POS terminals. Also working at citi. Never counted money thank god. I actually asked my boss about it. And your equation you came up with would have some of my co workers unemployed. But they aren't. My boss is a 60 year old lady who has been with citigroup for 40 years. She hires people too. She actually laughed when I asked her about what you said. She said you are full of shit. Pretty amusing coming from a cotton top.

it isnt hard at all...a debit card had the visa logo on it so a lot of places will use it as visa which takes a few days to come out of your account instead of debit which comes out instantly...then you think you have money and you dont, then theres overdrafte fees...ive had some bad experiences with banks
