Raw, Uncut, and X-Rated was not on Jive, it came out before he signed. And this is the tracklist:

"Invasion Of Flat Booty Bitches" - 5:07
"She's A Bitch" - 9:50
"Oakland, California" - 6:49
"The Bitch Sucks Dick" - 6:30
" Short Side / Blow Job Betty" - 12:05

So it is not as if he started doing it because Jive made him. Which is good, all those tracks were a lot of fun.

The problem is they didn't let him put out as much positive material as he wanted.

did you read the article? he was referring to the you nasty album, not his entire career.
and yes he is probably saying all of this due to the backlash. Record Companies are a business, and if its selling, they do not want you to deviate from the formula and make a drastic change such as a positive album.

Yes, I did. I wasn't referring to it, I was referring to the title of the thread, which gives the wrong impression that it was about his whole career.

do we not already know that major record labels have influence over the type of music their artists put out?
