Number one overall pick Derrick Rose is battling tendinitis in his right knee but still participated in the night session of Saturday’s double sessions for the Bulls, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune is reporting.

Rose was limping noticeably after the morning session but vowed he will not miss games in the summer league, starting Monday against Michael Beasley and the Miami Heat in Orlando.

"I’ve been coming 90 minutes early every day to get treatment," Rose said. "I’ll be fine."

Rose said the condition dates to his one season at Memphis and developed for noble reasons.

"I was scared I wouldn’t have a good season, so I would stay in the gym for like four hours until I got tendinitis," he said. "Coach (John Calipari) had to tell the managers don’t let me in no more because I was tearing up my knees and I had to keep getting MRIs. I just wanted to prove people wrong and let them know that I was going to play hard. That’s just the way I think."

nice hater remarks, aint it to bad that Oden gots more points in a pickup game then a NBA game yet hes all of a sudden a future hall of famer. hes probably gonna get hurt and i aint saying that as a hater.

You can't call anyone a bust until they atleast play 3 seasons in the league. Beasley took an elbow to the chest and couldn't practice..Would you label him a bust? Tha NBA is more physical than NCAA ball. He'll be getting elbows to the chest all day in the NBA.

mfkr I got tendinitis last weekend too! from playing basketball.


it doesn't make him injury prone. He probably just went too hard that day or didn't stretch properly before playing.

but so ya'll know-

Tendinitis isn't too serious. All it takes is some ice and rest then you're back to normal.
