"Nobody has or would wanna hear of..." NOBODY?!? I'm somebody, and I want to hear indy rappers, as long as they have talent. I'll take D-Moe's new solo over Fab's any day (even if the cover feature list and tracklisting is wrong). You say, in a previous post, about FAB, "if he's so bad, why does everyone like him?" or something like that. I'll tell you why:
A majority of the masses who have the financial power to buy CDS assume that just because they saw someone on MTV or BET that "they must be good." They don't understand that certain videos get played on music video channels BECAUSE THE ARTIST'S RECORD COMPANY HAS THE $$$ TO PAY THE STATION TO PLAY IT. Talent has nothing to do with whether or not your video gets played, unfortunately. If FAB weren't on a major label with mucho $$$, would he get played? Probably not. Also, I've found that many members of the mass audience don't really buy CDs because they like the artist; they buy them because they saw the artist on MTV and want to be "hip" with their skateboarding buddies and/or mall rat valley girlfriends (don't you just HATE it when girls like an artist not for the music, but because he's "hot" or "good-looking?"). Hey, if you feel FAB, that's your prerogative, just don't expect to get a lot of support on a Bay Area Rap-oriented board. Nothing personal, strictly business. PEACE!

I didn't say FAB has NO talent. I'm just saying that FAB might not get the exposure he gets if he were on a smaller label that couldn't afford to get him video play. Sometimes, a rapper who really can rap or (at the very least) make beats can get video play--the Death Row classics from '93/'96 are a great example. But a lot of times, it's the luck of the draw if you CAN find someone mainstream who also has talent.
One other thing: D-MOE's first CD was "Do You Feel Me?" I can't find MILLION DOLLAR MOUTHPIECE anywhere, so I wouldn't know how good or bad that is. PEACE!
