Yeh you have to get through Infantry OSUT then Airborne School and then you goto RIP where they weed people out than you get assigned to one of the 3 Ranger Batts..3rd at Ft Benning, 2nd at Ft Lewis, 1st at Hunter Army Airfield..which is by Savannah. After a certain amount of time usually after a deployment i guess....not sure..they send you to Ranger School to get tabbed. To have a leadership position in the Regiment you have to be tabbed. I think if you fail Ranger school they kick you out of Regiment, lol.

Air Assault looks bad ass too..thats at Ft Campbell i believe where the 101st at.

I didn't know there were 3 Ranger battalions. I'ma go to Ft. Lewis later on for some training. Isn't there a Special Forces unit there as well? I may be wrong but I knew an Afghan guy during basic training who was training to become an interpreter for an SF unit and I think he said there was one there.

Yeah it's at Ft. Campbell, KY. One of my drill sergeants was air assault qualified and he loved it. My unit is airborne though so I might have to do that soon, but I'm not a priority since I'm not on one of the tactical teams.

The Ranger beret color was originally black, but the Army thought it would be a great idea to give EVERYONE a black beret and give the Rangers a tan one. Pissed off alot of Rangers, lol. Personally i think the tan one looks cooler, but i get why people would get mad, lol.

Good thing about Ranger Regt is they get alot of gucci gear the rest of the Army dont get, lol.
