To me the old way of promoting is the best, exspecially in Northern Cali. Myspace, Internet Radio and Email Blasts are all good but you have deal with people directly when your promoting in your own City or Region.

That's pretty much anywhere you go Brugh. It's funny to me how everybody wants to rep their area and claim to have lots of love and support in the streets, but the streets and locals are the first to hate on anybody tryin' to get their thing going. All this love in the backyard first...to me, is dead in the water. Those that are in along for the ride, are in for just that. Those that don't have hands in it, will hate. And only a handful will truly be proud and support. So there is no real structure, period. That's why the love from the hood / streets / backyard yada yada yada never held water in my book. All that translates into your circle of friends, that's all.

At the end of it all, it's not what your city / area thinks of you because it's pretty much a biased opinion. It's what the world thinks and accepts and even if your town / city hates you...majority always rules, hence: the world is a big place. See: Any of 2Pac's documentaries based on how he went from NY to Cali / Marin Co. and ended up in l.a. Yet, the man still showed love back to those areas that hated on him once he blew up on a major / worldwide level.

Although, hate comes with pretty much anything you do, the best thing is to keep moving forward and don't stop to argue with any hater. If you do that, you might as well pick up every hitchiker, or stop for every stalled car you see on the road. You'll just be wasting time to get to where you need to get to on time.
