Anybody who raps about dealing drugs, being poor, or murdering people is not original. There is no originality in hiphop anymore. Period. Yes you may like somebody but to say they are original is crazy. Same topics over and over. What makes hiphop now are the beats because lyrics are recycled topics. Dont get mad at the truth.

Are u a hip-hop purist or fundamentalist? Come on homie, there is plenty of commonality but just like each man is an Individual, so is his story. What the fuck is there to say that would be remotely unique other than ur life? There has not been any minority gain politically or socially in a long minute. What direction do u recommend for the prevalent form of expression? People want relation to their music not speculation, Webster's dictionary, and unproven theories. Some shit ain't cool that happens but if u want an immaginary message, it's not hard to find. The problem with this whole quote is the fact u have no concept of originality. What is it then? There is always another way to innovate even in a soaked market like the recording industry. U ain't shown no more intelligence than the person u called urself making look silly. Hang up that pride shit brotha cause u don't know anything more than I do and I don't claim to be a genius.

The hell you going on a rant for, you dont know me or what i'm about. I made a statement and you cant proove me wrong. The fact of the matter is, most rappers dont live the life they rap about. How many of these clowns have actually murdered somebody? How many have slanged kilo's of coke, being poor is a universal struggle so each story is similar. Being poor is something every individual who has been poor can relate to. So again what are you talking about with the Individual struggle. You shot some niggas? You will shoot some niggas? You steal jordans off peoples feet? You ride 24's? You ride in scrapas, you hotbox in chevy's with whistle tips while rockin a pea coat. You tell me one rapper today who has not rapped about the same shit everybody else has. I aint no purist just a realist. The truth hurts, you mad?

a-wax served 5 yrs for murder, how many can say that? how many motherfuckers went to prison when they were in the midst of their teens?? by the time that man turned 20, he'd already spent damn near a quarter of his life in prison...that sure ain't a universal struggle. wax earned the right to speak on shit like that...he earned the right to speak on snitches, cuz he was snitched on and served his time. fuck slangin kilo's, that dont make u shit...i come from the burbs, and go to a school where the majority of people have never even seen the hood...but motherfuckers down there are pushin big weight. they're not hard though, just cuz they have the money to buy weight to push sure dont mean they're gangsta. i know plenty of motherfuckers who run with guns, it dont mean shit either...if you're 21 and have no felonies, anyone can get a gun. my point being, running with pounds and straps ain't no hardcore shit anymore, and i know the people to prove it. everybody raps about selling drugs and runnin with guns, because damn near everybody has done that shit. it don't impress me none, and if it impresses anybody, they're some simps anyway. if i thought any rapper was 'bragging' about that shit or saying it just to impress somebody, i sure as fuck wouldn't support them...anybody can get some weight, anybody can get a gun...i hope nobody thinks that makes them hard. sorry for the rant, i'm hungover and in a bad mood...

I feel you but how do you only get 5 years for murder? How is that possible? Self Defense? Thats different than saying you smoke people because they look at you or because they a bitch nigga and deserve to die and all that. People do brag about how hard their hood is and how many murders take place, or the fact they've been in prison. or the fact they walk around with 3 pittbulls and a glock. Cats think that is some badge of honor or something.

Why do I care if somebody spent time in prison? Why do I want to hear about somebody rap about how rough prison is? I deal with prison shit all day every day in my current job. I know what goes down in there. My felon ass brother lives with me. He did 10 years in Corcoran for selling dope and weapons possetion. He refuses to talk about the experience it was so traumatizing. Why would anybody want to buy a album to be depressed and hear somebody rap about prison and killing people that shit is not cool.

So much hostility, u need to find some relaxation somewhere. Read a book, work out or something. The only person who is showing any emotion has made that obvious. The statement u previously made was vague and general. U finally were specific and now there is clarity. I'm not tryna tear u down, but take a look at how a vague statement gets out of hand. U are responsible for ur words so if something came out wrong it's on u. U can't get mad because someone responded to that. I'm not tryna prove u wrong, but I am encouraging u to take a look at the position u put urself in. We shouldn't have to dive in this conversation, but it's here now. It's a commonality of living in America. The perception of ur life experiences is unique. That can't be argued. Are u saying everybody's life experiences are the same? Bottom line is that I applaud ur thoughtfulness in seeing what u see, but ur manipulating the dimensions of the problem. Become active to change the topics of the music u obviously listen to because there is a problem with subject material but it's not the artists fault necessarily. Accept shit for what it is or don't ur choice. Unless something profound is said I'm thru with this exchange.

^^i obviously don't know the ins and outs of his trial, but i'm assuming that he only got 5 yrs b/c he was a minor. i do agree that people wear that shit like a badge of honor, but the only people who r gonna hop on their nuts for that aren't hard either. i'm sure that prison is a traumatizing experience, but its also something that intrigues a lot of people that have never been there. for me personally, it's not depressing to hear that shit, cuz he came out and started a legit & legal hustle. he tried the other route, faced the consequences, and now he's doin it legit. how much u think his PO hates that? for me, it's uplifting to see how that motherfucker beat the odds, not depressing. i respect your oppinion though. it's cool to see that some people can debate something intelligently, without gettin their feelings hurt and doing the whole netbangin thing. stay up.

Brotha please believe I understand what you're saying. What i'm saying is that when it comes to rapping, you must use your background as a crutch to sell. If you went to prison hype it up. You sold drugs? hype it up. You were poor brag about it. When you say life experiences exactly what do you hear from a rapper thats so different than the next? It all leads to a similar story.

Raised in the hood, ate syrup sandwhiches, seen people shot, seen dope sold, baby mommas, my dad is a deadbeat, my moms is on drugs but I love her, fuck a bitch, I smoke weed, I do X, Prison is cool, i'm a tatted up money makin hustla, I ride scrapas, I sell dope by the key. I dont know many people what would want to hear real personal information from a person like, what they do for xmas, what their favorite ice cream is. One person that i can say is truley original is E40. While he may rap about drug dealin and all that, he actually has a personality and is not afraid to say goofy shit like what his favorite color is, or his favorite car, or how he likes to drink carlos rassi and eat neckbones. Not many people do that.

Back during that time period if u got charged with murder when u was like 13,14 or i think even 15 you was goin to be at CYA until you were 25. then they would see if you were fit to be realeased. 5 years sounds like some manslaughter type shit not no 1st,2nd or 3rd degree murder type shit

Peace, the reason I say its depressing is because on a nice day I dont want to hear about concrete walls full of men willing to shank or rape you. The real prison story is that people get gang raped, murdered, stabbed, cut up beat, you hear screaming all night. People knows all that happens inside thats why its depressing. Its cool when a person makes it out and is able to come back and make a living, but why is it always glamourizing the fact they went through that you know?
