i just figured the ear skin wouldnt do shit to the ear drum but i figure wrong a lot
those parts of the ear help the sound transfer to the ear drum man. that's why most people's ears are the way they are...so they can capture sound and transfer it to the inside hearing stuff...i'm not a doctor so i dont' know the names of all the parts in the ear...

but really, if you cut your ear off but left the stuff you "needed" to hear...you'd hear way less...cause most people's ears face forward slightly (not much, just a tiny bit) in order to help you hear the sounds...i'm not doing a great job at explaining but oh well...

no shit? i didnt think it fucked with there hearing, good lookin mayne
oh ya big time man,it doesnt affect the ear drum, but take for example if a dogs lieing down chillin and you come from behind and make a noise, there ears can adjust to hear better whats behind them without turnin there whole head, when there cropped there basicaly only able to face foward, they cant turn all around, now it doesnt mean your dog will become straight deaf, but there hearing will seriously be jeopordized.theres a reason why most dogs have flappy ears, love yo dog for who he is,not for what he will be

My oldest APBT male I had his ears cropped. I had them cropped 3 weeks past the cutting age because of all the vets I interviewed. A well respected APBT breeder recommended me a vet that she goes takes her dogs to get cropped out in Fair Oaks. Any young Vet will tell you no. Any old school vet will say yes. Since he was recommended and I liked his works he did the cropping. Its not the cropping that cost a lot its the rebandaging and postcare. Well needless to say It was my choice and it bares no effect on his temperament today. All of those saying how about I cut your ears off bla bla bla. Til this day no one has ever came upto me with that kind of attitude. I get more respect from people knowing how much I care for the breed than his appearance. During that time still in his puppyhood there was about 4 pitbull attacks in sacramento. I got a lot of shit by having a breed similar to a pitbull. I didnt get my youngest ones ears cropped, even tho I was just for the fact that ignorant owners dont know how to handle this particular breed. People get there noses, ears, chin forehead, get the fat sucked out of them, but its by choice, everyone has one....

PEOPLE have a choice. When does an animal get to make that choice???
Whenever some breakthrough miracle happens and all animals develop vocal cords and start speaking whatever language they wish to speak. Til then People are gonna buy, rescue, breed dogs. They gonna raise it to the best of their knowledge/experience. Those that truely love their dogs are gonna do whatever they possibly can to give it a nurturing life. You dont go to a Petsmart or a Petco etc and ask your animal which animal food they want. Your gonna buy whatever it is that you feel is necessary for your pet to get its daily nutritional intake.

No shit.

I was just pointing out that what you said was a really bad example. The only reason to crop a dogs ears to 'nurture' it is so that they don't get ripped off in a fight, and I don't know how many 'nurturing' pet owners fight their dogs.

Okay so when you see a Eukanuba or a Pedigree dog show, and a large, small shnauzer(sp??) Doberben or small miniature pinchures, Boxers, the list goes on and on are being shown to a mass audience im sure they are fighting their dogs. Never did i say I cropped my dogs ears for a pitting match.

My point was that its upto the owners whether or not they want their dogs ears to be cropped just as owners of rottweilers get thier tails docked. How many rottis do you see with their tails intact?? Its upto the owners of whichever breed of choice you own chooses to do so. If you want to cut that dogs ears, tail, leg, off so be it. Its a fact of life that it doesnt change a dogs temperament whatsoever.

Do you see how these statements contradict each other? Pitbulls NEED exorcize. If you ain't jogging with that mufucka everyday and it's all chill when it's inside all day then odds are your dog is mentally bored and/or depressed. (If it's barking at random shit its bored. If it's not, it's depressed)
