That shit is crazy...those little villages towards the end were just more or less erased by the Tsunami. In like one of the first 5 pics you can see a river that is nice and blue in the before...than in the after it just brown filled with dirt and debris.

Good post KC Vett

RIP to everyone out there that was killed....

God damn that had to be one big ass wave. I still dont understand how it struck though. Like was there just a huge towering wave that violently crashed over everything, or was it a more subtle flooding situation?

Tsunamis only hit in certain parts of the world...just like hurricanes, tornados and earthquakes...
Not always true. Tornado in Sunnyvale, CA...Tornado in Sacramento, CA...I believe there was recently a small tornado in the Los Angeles area.

Tsunami's hit where the earth shakes most of the time, or where there's violent storms in the middle of the ocean. I'm sure one day in the future, there's going to be a HUGE earthquake in the Pacific and we're going to feel sorry for people living up and down the California coast.

All of this could have been avoided, had people either A. Had the same senses as animals...or B. They knew the MAJOR warning sign of a Tsunami, which you should know BEFORE you go anywhere in Asia, just in case. None of the animals on the shore were killed, crazy huh?

It's a sad thing that happened, and what's even sadder is all of those deaths could have been avoided. I know the leader in Sri Lanka was warned by the center in Honolulu and he didn't warn anybody. They should tell tourists also upon arrival, that if the water on the beach all of a sudden disappears and there's 1000 or so extra feet of shore suddenly, that they need to get the fuck gone.

^^^^True...but 90% of tsunamis hit in the Pacific Ring...only a few have been recorded in the Atlantic and other small seas...

I remember just this last summer there was an earthquake in frickin Illinios...only a 3 magnitude though...
