Text....if I sent someone a text yesterday, is it inappropriate grammar to say that I 'texted' them?

it's not like a word that ends in -ed already so it's not like "i fixeded it."

you add an -ed to like every other verb to make it past tense so why wouldnt you do it to that?

text is not a verb it refers to written words
whether you say i sent a text to ....
or i texted ...
