we should just do like australia does and many other countries and make the parents responsible for their bringing their kids lunch. if a parent cant send their kid to school with food then they dont need to have kids.

imagine if mcdonalds was given like millions a year of our tax money and you had no idea it was happening and it was nearly impossible to stop. well thats what public school food vendors basically are. big business has no place in public schools, especially when it is the business of feeding kids and there is every incentive for profit (i.e. giving kids cheap unhealthy frozen food for maximum profit)

That's what I was thinking. All this whining when kids can just bring their own lunch. There's a way around everything.
yes, thats an option which will effectively allow one to circumvent the problem of nutrition for their own particular child, but its not going to hurt profits for the food vendors. it just effectively ignores the problem and allows it to continue.
we have to come up wtih a new way to provide kids in need with more nutritious food, and do it in a way that doesnt allow abuse of the system, from unscrupulous parents without shame and from corporations who are allowed to profit handsomely and then use those same profits to lobby congress and alter our laws
