Onions carrot and celery are called mirepoix (i might have left out a letter), Its the classic base for building flavor. the trinity is onions carrot and green pepper, its like the cajun version of mirepoix.

and just as an aside, I make a lot of my red sauces using mirepoix, as do a lot of folks, so it wouldnt be that unusual to have carrots in pizza sauce, although you it wouldnt taste carroty.

I would too, but even the experts can't make up their damn minds.

"Alcohol is bad", "No, alcohol is good in moderation". "Tofu is good", "Too much tofu is bad". "Coffee is Bad", "No, Coffee has positive effects on the liver".

Moderation is key, I say. The only thing we can all agree on is that fruits and vegetables are good for you.

Oh, and kids need to go outside and play. I used to eat all kinds of shit as a kid, and I was never unhealthy or obese. Neither were the kids I grew up with.
