SMH@you saying this.

The guns don't protect against crime? If the people are allowed to carry concealed weapons (a lot of states have laws prohibiting it) then a lot of this shit would stop. This is why, as you say, it was the police who stopped the threat.
Ok, but the Orlando incident happened in a bar/club. Do you think we should allow people to carry concealed weapons in those type of venues too?

Those zones should be "gun free" except for the owner and licensed security. If this is not possible, every person should be allowed to carry in those premises. However, if anything happens while in those type of venues then the harshest penalties must be administered.

We can't save everyone, breh. We can't give everyone a job, we can't feed every homeless person, we can't stop every kid from dropping out, we can't stop people from killing. But this is a country that is different, culturally, from a place like Austrailia, and there is too much crime going on to take away guns.

I'm pro defending yourself. As a human being it is your right to protect yourself from harm and if an AR-15 helps you feel comfortable, I'm not going to say "you don't need that."

Almost no civilians have military weapons btw, they generally cost well into the 5 figures and require special tax stamps and permitting.
What do you mean almost no one? The AR-15 by itself is very popular. The difference between military and civilian is one is fully automatic and the other semi automatic, that's it. Clearly having a semi auto isn't stopping the large body counts. Even so, it's easy to modify to fully automatic and there are kits available for purchase.

You get an AR for $600. We were just talking about a few pages ago that in Arizona, Florida and other states it takes 20 minutes. No special requirements that you're talking about.

Who needs assault rifles designed for the military? Gun enthusiasts, people who consider these their hobby. The AR-15 has been re-branded and sold as a sporting rifle. They have tournaments and games designed around the gun lol. It isn't necessary, we don't need these types of military style weapons in the hands of your every day person.

I can walk into a store 15 minutes before they close and walk out with an AR. It gets processed as a 'long gun' so when the background check is ran there's really nothing to differentiate from a regular shotgun or an AR. That could be different from state to state but that's how it is in every state the company I work for operates.

There's also a delay/open loophole in every state has NICS as a POC. If I walk in on Monday to buy a gun and get put on delay for whatever reason which just means they're still doing research on me and couldn't give an immediate response - the store can legally transfer the firearm to me within 3 business days if no response comes back from NICS. Which opens up the potential for a firearm to be sold and NICS responds with a denial 1-2 weeks later, now you have someone that for whatever reason can't own a firearm with a firearm.

It's crazy how easy it is and it's even easier than that at gun shows.

In 2005, I was found guilty of harassment accompanied with a strike, kick, punch or jab. A week or so later, I walked into a gun shop in Pittsburgh and was out the door 10 minutes later with a handgun.

I own three guns now but I still think there should be waiting periods and background checks. It wouldn't violate the 2nd Amendment to put a couple rules in place. The problem is these wackjobs thinking ANY legislation dealing with guns violates the 2nd Amendment.

Meanwhile, a call to deport Muslims clearly violates the 1st Amendment.

Let's not act like its our love of the Constitution standing in the way of things.

People are lunatics and hypocrites.

In WA, there is a waiting period...5 days i believe. I thought that was a US thing and not a state by state thing?

I may be wrong, but there is no background check for buying rifles/shotguns in WA state.

Breh I know exactly where South Park is so no fuck you. The article just said "White Center".

Secondly if you are friends with someone who attacks innocent people with a hatchet then I don't know what to tell you.

It's a state thing. You can buy a handgun with no waiting period in LA, MS, AL, GA, but FL has a 3 day mandatory waiting period. I'm not sure on what WA (or any northern/western state for that matter) does, but the waiting periods on any type of sale varies from state to state.
