Thanks....songs like this remind me why i love rap music....I been a fan since about 84-85 and have seen it evolve, and the last few years I have been extremely disappointed.....probabably cause i dont buy c.ds like i used to.I have friends who download albums...I have never done that....downloaded a few songs like the one you just gave me.I went to work about 86 and thats when my buying tapes really started..every payday Id buy up as much rap as I could...I wanted to bump what no one else was up on...
when we would go to N.W.A..king t,Ice T concerts Id make sure the car we was in was bumping BIG Daddy Kane.Me and a friend had a game..he was collector to straight out the bronx..living in l.a. AND WE WOULD pick a letter of the alphabet for the other and he would have to name as many rappers as he could that started with that letter. It got to a point about 89-90 that it was easier to tell ya what I dint have as to what tapes i did....
It took me a minute to start buying c.ds cause my collection of tapes was pretty big...about 800 rap casettes...but I finally went to c.ds around 93-94...hell even the chronic is on tape in my collection..
I never was biased toward any coast...how could you be biased towards the Eastcoast when they turned you out? I had every fat boy/kool moe dee/UTFO/tape.....I had shit like the GUCCI crew ....every schooly D..I had a grip of bay area rap....Rap music was all good, and i had no limits on what id buy....now everything is segregated, washed down...Ive been disaapointed and angry at the direction...the downward spiral of rap.....but then i shouldnt...I could never buy another rap c.d in my life....Ive got not only hours,days..but months of music in my cassettes and c.ds.....Ihavent calculated this but roughly two whole months of music..if i pressed play and listened all the way through everything I had going 24 hours a day....not including my mixtapes..the ones from as early as 86......the new york radio shows...dj red alert/magic...
