NEW YORK (Reuters) - Telecom carrier Savvis Communications Corp.on Monday said that its chief executive did not seek reimbursement for $241,000 in charges he allegedly incurred during a visit to a trendy Manhattan strip club.

That tab is at the center of a lawsuit filed last week by American Express.

The credit card company on Thursday filed suit against Savvis and its CEO Robert McCormick, saying they were two years late in paying charges McCormick rang up on his corporate credit card at Scores, a well-known New York strip club.

Savvis said it hasn't paid any portion of the bill in question. American Express says that McCormick rang up the charges in a single visit to the club, while entertaining a small group of business acquaintances.

The bulk of the charges were for tips that McCormick gave to lap dancers who were entertaining his party in a VIP room known as the President's Club, according to Scores spokesman Lonnie Hanover.

"Savvis is responding to the complaint, but as this is a legal matter, the company will not comment further at this time," the company said in its statement.

McCormick and a company spokesman did not return calls seeking comment.

Thats a lot of money to pay to look at something. Could have gone over to Brazil and sat on their beaches and got a better show for a fraction of the price.
