I posted in another thread that they were going to fight, but it definitely deserves it's own thread. I'm glad that Hatton dropped his IBF strap to fight Castillo rather than defending against the IBF mandatory N'Dou. Castillo didn't look too good in his last match against Ngoudjo, but I think it was from Castillo underestimating him and I also think that Ngoudjo is actually a really good fighter who would beat alot of ranked guys out there. On the other hand, Hatton didn't look that great against Urango either. He showed in the 5th that he could be hurt to the body and in the later rounds he ran out of gas and resorted to his hit and hold style that he's known for. That being said, I'll be rooting for Castillo to win and I'd also pick him to win a UD or SD, but I wouldn't be suprised if Hatton gets the victory. I'm just hoping for a ref that won't allow Hatton to pull his John Ruiz bullshit and try to hold his way to victory against Castillo.

Hatton is overrated IMO...but this is going to be an interesting fight...Castillo looked slow in his tune up...and lost gas real quick...hopefully he can get into better shape. I'll be rooting for Castillo for sure...

Hatton is the man, ur trippin'. Everyone has been duckin him.
This is a joke right?
Hatton just left his backyard less than a year ago. He has been protected by management for his entire career. Not one person has ducked him and if they did it's becuase the money was no where near what they could get in the US for a bigger fight.

Pretty Boy Floyd's thoughts on Hatton...

"Ricky Hatton ain't nothing but a fat man. I'm going to punch him in his beer belly," the American told BBC Sport.

"He ain't good enough to be my sparring partner. I'm retiring in America, that don't mean I'm retiring in the UK."

Mayweather said: "I've only seen Ricky Hatton fight one time and that was against Urango and he looked like garbage.

"All he can do is punch and hold, punch and hold and wrestle. It's obvious that his fights are not more exciting than mine.

"And guess what? He said he was going to come to America and do 5,000 seats, but 5,000 people come and watch me train every day.

"Nobody even knows Ricky Hatton. He came over to America and nobody even came to see him fight.

"I could come to England and fill up the same stadium he can fill up. He ain't getting money like me.

"When I retire, I'll get Ricky Hatton to wash my clothes and cut my lawn and buckle my shoes."

^^I read that a week or two ago. The funny thing is that he says he could fill up the same stadium that Ricky does, but he can't even fill up the arena in his hometown of Grand Rapids. That's not even mentioning the amount of people that consistently walk out of his fights early (including Tiger Woods at his Baldomir fight..lol).

Ricky Hatton is a good, quality fighter, but nowhere near ''great''...this should be an easy win for Castillo, in my opinion, but coulda woulda shoulda...we'll see which Castillo shows up.

I'll still be pulling for Castillo.
