the sound quality on certain tapes are better than some cds i have...Hollow Tip's "Takin No Shortz" sounds way better, picks up more parts of the beat than my cd version does

A lot of bands/artists I listen to these days put out tape only releases in editions of 100 or less copies. They usually sell for between $4-7. I have no idea how much they cost to make but I think the whole tape underground movement is pretty dope.

This is mostly noise rock, ambient/drone music, experimental/noise artists and stuff of the likes and a few "normal" type bands. Not hip hop or anything like that. I really can't picture some hip hop heads or people who listen to rap these days buying tapes because most rap these days is all about being a baller and tapes are not balling lol.

the cassette isn’t there to be played, it’s there as a piece of memorabilia to encourage people to buy the album
In that case, I'd prefer a Vinyl memorabilia. For those who don't care about vinyl, look at it as getting bigger pictures, text, foldouts and such.

Call me weird, but looking at my childhood, the sound that a bunch of cassette tapes make when they're clanging against each other is a beautiful noise. I just remembered digging in my backpack for my walkman and Bone Thugs tape, lol.
