***************

As Ohio State's Sept. 13 game at Southern California approaches, there naturally will be some trash talking as these two storied programs brace for what looms as a classic regular-season matchup between perennial Rose Bowl opponents.

But Carson Palmer may have taken it to the extreme in an interview last week with LA radio station KLAC. Palmer, after all, makes his living in Ohio as quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals, and his remarks may make the home-state fans ultra-critical of USC's 2002 Heisman Trophy winner.

You can click here to hear Palmer's inflection and judge for yourself just how seriously he meant his mini-rant, but here's the gist what he said after being asked if he was cautious when talking about Ohio State football:

"I don't watch what I say. I cannot stand the Buckeyes, and having to live in Ohio and hear those people talk about their team, it drives me absolutely nuts . . . It's amazing to hear what those guys think about that university and what they think about that football program and (Ohio State coach Jim) Tressel and all the crap I gotta put up with being back there. I just can't wait for two years from now when SC comes to the 'Shoe and I get to hopefully, hopefully we'll have a home game that weekend and I can go up there and watch us pound on them in their own turf and kind of put all the talk to rest. Because I'm really getting sick of it and I just can't wait for this game to get here so they can come out to the Coliseum and experience LA and get an old-fashioned Pac-10 butt-whoopin' and go back to the Big Ten . . . I can't wait."

its just college football. and saying FUCK THE BUCKEYES is a very legitimate argument.

and so ya'll realize, not all of Ohio pays Carson Palmer's bills. That comes from the owners last time I checked. Filling the seats or losing fans isn't always just cause to switch you QB

the owners wont get paid unless fans fill seats....nfl fans generate the revune and nfl players get paid by that revune...

Aint nothin wrong with his comments.
You do realize that The Buckeyes play in Ohio, right? You also realize that The Cincinatti Bangals play in Ohio, right? You do also realize that Carson palmer plays for the Bengals, which playin Cincinatti, which play in Ohio, right? Did you know that the Buckeyes are one of the most revered football teams EVER in sports history, and that Buckeye fans are SERIOUS about their Buckeye football?

Read on on the history:

He wouldnt make the buckeyes practice squad..............
I really hope you are jokin. The entire Buckeyes team could not make the practice squad of the Bengals is what you should have said.

First of all, it is not an agrument, its a statement. Second of all, you must not know sports if you dont see the irony of what he said. Last I checked, Carson was removed from College football some 5 years ago.

not really.....its allready been said this is no huge deal.....but it is quite retarted of him...the nfl offseason is allways real slow....atleast were not talking about favre....if it boils your blood that were talking about it why even read/post?

in a NORMAL job you would get FIRED if you made public comments that you "really hate" your clients you work for.....of course nfl players get a pass but that doesnt mean we just shouldnt talk about it

This really isn’t that big of a deal.

You may get a few Buckeye fans that end up saying fuck Palmer and the Bengals…but they probably aren’t big Bengals fans anyway.

Real fans aren’t gonna care too much about this. You think they will stop going to Bengals games for something stupid like this?

If they win…they will show up no matter what.
