hell yeah. Problem is the FD body still goes hella. And the kits for it are hella too. i remember one of the dudes that did the first FD Ls1 conversion said there was a wiring nightmare.

I remember when i first did the conversion... most of the rx7club.com katz hated me. But when i told all my buddies in japan, they thought it was krazy and loved it (this conversion was something they've never scene).

When i went to Japan, i went to Re Amemiya and other rx7 shops and met alot of rx7 kats.

Your wrong, the 3.8 in the newer fwd pussy mobiles, and the legendary motor that came in the RWD appilications for decades share NOTHING but displacement, and I AM right, for example, the 4.9 FWD that came in caddilacs, has a STAMPED metal water pump, dont believe me? also name one FWD transmission that can handle any real power? ill be waiting.

FWD is only made to save money, and rip off the consumer , it has no other use.

there is a common water pump off a FWD car, hmm looks like it's stamped metal, doesnt it?

Ok......

You said.."your a fucking embarrassment to mankind, you must not of had a dad."

haha....interesting choice of words.....I laughed at that.

So immediately I think that judging by your 2nd quacked off statement that your dad must have been a smoker and a real tru to life idiot for you to come up with the shit you do.

But what's the point of us talkin about each others family members in this here thread...you tell me.

Back to the topic at hand though.....

You said the only similarities they(3800) posses are "displacement"....of course.........but also it's the same basic block design...from '77 all the way up to the present...as in a couple of years ago.....same basic block design and displacement (3800-----3.8L<---That has never changed)

And when did the Stamped steel cover you were talking about for the "motor cover" turn into a stamped steel water pump???.....

Explain yourself next time.

I might have said somethin else.

But since you brought it up....I'll speak on it then.

Yes the part you are talking about may seem inferior and just might be to some degree (I dont know, I'm not an engineer) I'm willing to bet that it was designed for its specific application.....So I wouldnt be able to answer which one is more prone to leak....hell, it's a water pump....it's gonna go one day anyway....I've had to replace many...FWD and RWD....domestic and foreign.

And now you talkin about trannys.....

We wasnt even talkin about that at first.

But since you brought it up.....

lol.....wow

FWD cars were never meant for REAL hp....REASON BEING......you know this and I know this.

If you get too much power going through the front wheels you'll get torque steer from hell.......which no one has tamed.

Man....you got me up here explainin shit and your statements dont even make sense.

And why cant the FWD get rebuilt like RWD and keep it pushin too?

"because the front cover of the motor has to be stamped sheet metal, so it can fit between the front wheels, also fwd cars do not have frames, subframe cars can not even survive a accident, on a frame car, you can replace the bushings, and it will ride like it is brand new, fwd cars are not even worth rebuilding the motor, people just donate them and get a new car."

"FWD is only made to save money, and rip off the consumer , it has no other use. "

And yea....that RX-7 with the 4.1 would be real ridiculous.....I'd love to see that....real shit.

Exactly my point, and no, NOTHING about the current 3.8's is sim. to the old ones, to prove your point even more, the block in the GNX only came out two years, 1986-1987, its nothing alike, trust me, I wish it was, its a brand new block design from scratch, it shares NOTHING with the 1987 and before 3.8's, what does it take to get that threw your thick skull???

The 3.8 L (3800 cc) LN3 was an engine produced by General Motors' Buick Division. Introduced in 1988, the 3800 LN3, would later be loosely considered the Pre-Series I, although the older 3.8 SFI (LG3) was still available that year in some models. Designated initially by VIN code C, the 3800 LN3 was a major redesign, featuring changes such as a balance shaft, on-center bore spacing, use of a 3x/18x crank-trigger system, and other improvements. This generation continued in use in several GM products into the 1990s. It produced 165 hp (123 kW) and 220 lb·ft (298 N·m). The LN3 is very closely related to the Series I L27 and Series I L67 Supercharged. In fact, supercharger-related hardware can be fitted to an LN3 without changing the cylinder heads (ECM reprogramming required). The L27 has a two piece, upper plenum intake and lower intake, the LN3 is all one piece.

The current 3800 series motor is even further changed.

Introduced in 1995, the Series II is quite a different engine. Although the stroke for the 3.8 L engine remained at 3.4 in (86 mm), and the bore remained at 3.8 in (97 mm), the engine architecture was vastly changed. The deck height is shorter than the Series I, reducing weight and total engine package size. This required that the piston connecting rods be shortened 1 in (25 mm), and the crankshaft was also redesigned. A new intake manifold improved breathing while a redesigned cylinder head featured larger valves and a higher compression ratio. The result was 205 hp (153 kW) and 230 lb·ft (312 N·m), better fuel economy, and 26 lb (12 kg) lighter overall weight (to 392 lb (178 kg)). The 3800 weighs only 22 lb (10.0 kg) more than the High Feature V6, despite being an all cast iron design.

The new intake manifold greatly improved breathing. To meet emissions standards, an EGR tube was placed in the intake manifold to reduce combustion temperatures. This increases fuel mileage by a substantial margin.

Do you also think that the current gm 5.7 is the same basic block as the 5.7 from 1970? your embarrassing yourself time to shut up.

FWD cars are just the car companys way of giving us cheaper, less powerful, worse handling cars, The last two RWD cars ive driven are a 1987 buick regal, and a 1995 impala, and both ride WAY better then any fwd shit box, plus dont even get me started on the power, and comfort.

Far from embarrasment my friend.

I like how your trying to sound smarter than you actually are.

If you read my post earlier you would have seen that I wrote that they did what they did with a few modifications.....more than a few actually.......but when it came down to it, it was for the most part/essentially the same block design.

I know that over time pieces parts and theories change when it comes to that shit, so thankyou for copy and pasting what I already knew.

homies, arguing about cars aint gonna get anywhere. Everyone has their own preference and why things are better...

I'm a car enthusiast, so I enjoy all cars. yeah there are some unreliabe pieces of shit and what not.. but who am I to decide.
---------------------------------------

As far as the topic goes, its not the cars that make the douchebag, its the drivers that think they are better than everyone bekuz of what they drive, a douchebag.

example - A kid in a honda civic with a b16a.. thinking he a bad ass bekuz of that swap.

example - a kat in a mustang that revs everytime he gets to a stop light.

example - a dude that gots an SR20det swap and thinks he is an automatic drift king.

example - someone that picks up a WRX or an Evo and think they are bad asses bekuz they bought a STOCK turbo AWD car.
