Richard Schaefer said today Floyd is planning on fighting on 9/14 and they already reserved the date in Vegas. Schaefer said not against Canelo. Devon Alexander?! Who knows. Regardless, Floyd needs to be focused on Robert. Even if Floyd wins who knows if he gets cut, hurts his hand or whatever. Premature for that kind of talk imo.

CZAR @CZAR I said if the judge saw it to be correct than yes it's correct. I'm fine with it. And B @bigface the reason I bring up Mayweather is because he is a current fighter. I grew up watching Chavez Sr and he didn't win the fight. Hence the draw. I talk about what's current, especially Mayweather, because he can give us, the fans, some of the best matches we could see in boxing history but a lot of boxing fans are brainwashed thinking being undefeated is better, so Mayweather rides with it. If Canelo was to have lost against Trout I would still follow Canelo cuz he wants to fight the best and can beat the best.

Actually if you want to know the truth Mayweather rematched Castillo to shut up haters like urself. Unlike Chavez Sr or Oscar DLH guys that fans loves to call warriors but yet both guys didn't rematch Pernell Whitaker after both guys got gifts a draw for Chavez and a UD for Oscar. Why dont u hear more fans talking about Whitaker getting robbed by both Chavez Sr and Oscar and both guys ducking the rematch. But u have nervous to talk crap about Mayweather for rematching a guy that gave him a good fight. Boxing fans are so funny nowadays.
Canelo inturn wont rematch Trout...and this is his version of Castillo...now they are talking about a possible fight with Cotto next on other boxing forums like they given this dude a SUPER PASS to go fight a washed up fighter who has 2 previous losses against Trout and Mayweather...but if Floyd did something like that AAAAAAAALLLL HELL would break lose. In Canelo's contract they wanted a rematch clause but didn't want to give Trout the same option...like they NEW the scoring was gonna be fixed...just stay close lol!!! I like Canelo...just like I like Pacquiao but I don't like the politics that surround protected fighters.

So with that being said you better hope they don't have Cotto as his next opponent... cause that's a straight money move...and it's like Canelo going back to cherry picking...I wonder what your response will be if that should happen...?

Floyd will be fighting a Latino fighter. Period

Especially on that date because we all know that is Mexican Independence week.

If he fights Devon Alexander it won't sell much.

I can see a rematch against Ortiz, or even Cotto.

Canelo doesn't get to pick his opponents like Mayweather.

GoldenBoy picks Canelo's opponents. Canelo has been saying for 2 years now he wants Mayweather......

GB still gives him other fights.

Yeah Whitaker got ROBBED against Chavez.
Cool and I am good with that.

The way boxing is judged though.....especially when it comes to a Champion fighter.....the opponent will not win a "close" fight. The opponent has to clearly demonstrate domination in the fight. (See Rigo vs. Donaire)

Now, we can say that this isn't always true (see Bradley vs. Pac) but when you are talking about a money generating machine like Mayweather (or Chavez, or DLH) you better clearly beat them.

my opinion.

And Canelo will be treated the same....

Ratings for the event:

teve Kim S @Steve maxboxing 3h
the #canelotrout fight on SHO did around 1.1 million
viewers. There was a dip after the early KO and long delay
before main event #boxing

Steve Kim S @Steve maxboxing 3h
Just to clarify, that number is specifically for the portion
of the broadcast that showed the fight... #canelotrout
#boxing

Steve Kim S @Steve maxboxing 3h
To put this into perspective, Canelo's audience has been
21-percent larger on HBO than his two SHO
appearances... #boxing

Steve Kim S @Steve maxboxing 3h
Again, you have to remember that HBO does have more
subscribers and in the past, a bigger #boxing brand. SHO
still has to make up ground...

Steve Kim S @Steve maxboxing 3h
But Canelo's numbers are among the highest ever on
Showtime( Tyson fights weren't individually tracked) and
this is just the start #boxing

Steve Kim S @Steve maxboxing 2h
The biggest audience that Alvarez has played to on HBO
or Showtime was the 1.55 million for his fight with Ryan
Rhodes(HBO) #boxing

Goes to show how much more of a pull HBO has on boxing
compared to Showtime.

Kinda b.s. though that he didn't mention that Canelo's first fight was up against Chavez/Martinez in a hugely anticipated fight and against a sorry opponent.

Although, HBO definitely would've promoted Canelo/Trout better.

I think Mayweather vs Canelo will be made May 5th next year. HBO vs Showtime is funny as hell HBO and the media is talking big shit, but if Mayweather vs The Ghost does 1 million PPV buys HBO will be so hurt. I have both channels so I could care less.

Kinda silly that the whole Golden Boy vs HBO beef started with that event. I guess Richard Schaefer was furious HBO wanted Martinez vs Chavez instead of Canelo Lopez. I mean come on, Martinez vs Chavez was building for two years and was a fight everyone wanted, Lopez was like the fourth replacement fighter for Canelo. Anyways, that's the past. I have a feeling Golden Boy will be working with HBO again next year, Golden Boy simply has way too many fighters to all fit on Showtimes schedule and budget.

Golden Boy doesn't pick FLoyd's opponents so even if Golden Boy wanted Canelo to fight him 2 years ago it...doesn't mean it's gonna happen...and the bottom line is...if Canelo's management or promotional ties has him fighting tuna cans, guess what...in the end Canelo is cherry picking because they represent him...he inherits the results of their decisions...see Manny Pacquiao. In Canelo's case there is promo footage of him at ringside for the Trout/ Cotto fight...and they were clearly wanting Cotto to win...when that didn't happen...they still were trying to make a possible Cotto fight...but the public wasn't buying it...I suspect Canelo could have cared less about revenge for his brother...he wanted the easier big money fight. The only fighter they said Canelo wasn't ready for was Floyd...I'm not mad if he fights Cotto...but how can you judge Floyd by a whole different standard than the rest?

The Bay Area @The Bay Area How is Canelo cherry picking when he wanted Ortiz, but he lost. Then wanted Cotto, then he lost too! He fought the winner of both those fights, which is the right thing to do, and won. GBP didn't want him to fight Trout, Canelo wanted it, and got it, and proved everyone wrong. Mayweather had no choice but to fight The Ghost, but he was gunning for Alexander. That's cherry picking. Canelo wants a shit load of fights but GBP don't or won't give him those fights so if he does fight Cotto so what? That is what he's left with. He wanted Martinez a while back too anf GBP said no. He is cherry picking, but wants the best, not the easiest.

lol @ Super Duper! Also how is Floyd cherry picking because u say he wanted Alexander but chose Guerrero?? Makes no sense. Floyd picks his own fights and if he wanted Alexander then he wouldve chosen Alexander. That little runor was just a ploy to hype up him and Guerrero anyway. He was never gonna really fight Alexander anyway most real boxing fans or experts knew that. U reaching dog. Got Em!!

How was it a ploy? You telling me there would be no audience for a Mayweather Alexander fight? If he chose another day besides 5 de Mayo to fight, then yes, he would have fought Alexander. But he wanted more money so he had Canelo on his undercard like he had him last time, and knew if he headlined a fight with another black guy, it wouldn't have worked. but now canelo dipped and showed he can get an audience to watch his fights. Guerrero did mention that he was a mandatory anyways so that's what it really boils down to. So if that's the case then yes he really is scared of the Ghost.

So he's scared of Devon then? He said it was for unification of the titles right? How's that a ploy? If anything, he doesn't even know how to promote this fight cuz all he says is he doesn't know who RG is. He was banking on Canelo fighting that night, 5 de Mayo, and allowing the undercard to promote the fight, while he takes credit for the PPV numbers. I really don't think this fight will get 1 mill, but I hope it does so we can see the beginning of the end of King Cherry Picker
