Cameron "Cam'ron" Giles has issued an apology for statements he made on a recent segment of CBS news program "60 Minutes."

As SOHH previously reported, Cam appeared in an interview with Anderson Cooper which aired on April 22nd. That interview was part of a larger story about how the "stop snitching" movement in hip-hop has been detrimental to murder investigations across the country.

During the program, Cam'ron expressed the view that there is no situation that would warrant a person aiding police. When Cooper questioned the Harlem rapper about his own unwillingness to cooperate with police after being shot and wounded in Washington, DC, Cam defended his actions by saying it would be bad for his business.

Even before the show aired, Cam's comments were vilified in the press and throughout the hip-hop community.

Giles has since issued a statement related to his "60 Minutes" appearance, which further explains his behavior following the shooting and goes on to apologize for comments made on the show.

"In 2005, I was a victim of a violent crime. I was shot multiple times without provocation by two armed men who attempted to carjack my vehicle. Although I was a crime victim, I didn't feel like I could cooperate with the police investigation. Where I come from, once word gets out that you've cooperated with the police that only makes you a bigger target of criminal violence. That is a dark reality in so many neighborhoods like mine across America. I'm not saying its right, but its reality. And it's not unfounded. There's a harsh reality around violence and criminal justice in our inner cities," Cam'ron said via statement.

"But my experience in no way justifies what I said. Looking back now, I can see how those comments could be viewed as offensive, especially to those who have suffered their own personal tragedies or to those who put their lives on the line to protect our citizens from crime. Please understand that I was expressing my own personal frustration at my own personal circumstances. I in no way was intending to be malicious or harmful. I apologize deeply for this error in judgment."

You obviously didn't understand at all what I was talking about. I'm saying someone who could speak like that would not rap like a pre-schooler. And if it was true then it would be extremely ironic.

e.g "Out mingalin', heard that I blingy-bling/
But I run the circus like ring-a-ling/
I'm the king of things, and your man he a homo like jing-a-ling/"

Why not snitch out the psycho killer who lives next door. Or the pedophile down the street. I think he tried running with the snitch thing a little to hard
I thought it was funny that he said he would get himself out of the neighborhood but wouldn't rat out the serial killer. That's BS. Dudes killin' people left and right and cam gets himself out of dodge. Fuck that fool. Of course this is all hypothetical.

How is that vocabulary extensive? If you think that's extensive vocabulary then you need to read books and pick up a dictionary.

thats cause camron probably knows this mainstream rap shit is all fake and stupid anyway. you sell your image to people and it doesnt matter what your raps sound like or how complex they are. you only need a catchy hook and some decent beats people can dance or party to and make em think youre a thug and you make millions. why would he be rapping hella complex x-raided style and shit if he makes more money doing what he does now? shit think about it, he says if he snitches it will hurt his image and his pockets, thats cause if he doesnt have people respecting his "gangster" then all he has left is the shitty halfassed bubblegum raps

shit most mainstream rappers are secretly laughing at us for selling half-assed work and making millions off of it. hte people that supposedly put real hard work in it overdue it and nobody fuckin cares like kanye west. at least thas how i see it
