Those LA ghettos haven't been ghettos longer then u may think.....The midwest and east coast regions have been ghettos way longer and seem to always lack money to fix up those parts.
Alot of South Central actually has working class people....I have alot of family and friends that have good jobs and live right in Compton, South Central, Inglewood etc.....LA is a very expensive place to live and alot of people just wanna be in the city so even if u got a 50k a year job u still living in the hood in a place like LA...Not enough people try to move out to the suburbs...Everybody wanna be close to the action.
I've been up and down Cali and the worst looking ghettos I've seen in Cali is not in LA....By far the worst looking ghettos in Cali I've been to are Oakland, South and East Stockton, East Palo Alto, North Richmond and Filmore....The worst looking ghettos cosmetically are i Northern Cali, not in Los Angeles.
Out of state people are fooled thinking LA ghettos are so fucked up and they are not....But! Them hoods are very dangerous no matter how they look cosmetically....U can still get ur cap peeled going thru them parts so don't be fooled.....LA use to average 1000 murders a year back in the 80's so don't be fooled cuz of how it looks.

being a cali head to this day, i'll be the first too admit around here has the smoothest of the smooth when it comes down to suffering neighborhoods. And I have lived in souf richmond and portero hill jects but really us cali folks got it good compared to the crumbling civilizations and struggling communities worldwide.. por example: gary, detroit, flint, natti, st. lois, houston, new orleans, dc, miami if you ain't been past your own stoop look it up. Real talk I've been all around ain't nathen like Cali we got life good. Even the strugglers. God bless
