you tell me what's better......keep Jackson so he doesn't walk or fire Cable and have a lot of players walk? It isn't that much of a tough decision for someone with common sense, it's too bad that's something that Al Davis lacks
Man when it comes down to it money talks....the players that say they are going to walk if you flash them with the right green they will stay. Besides there aren't alot of talent on your team to lose.

Keep Jackson. The players need to suck it up and move on. They're professionals and they're being paid like professionals. Anybody on the roster can be replaced. It's a tough decision but I agree with Al on this one. Hue Jackson was more responsible for our turn around than Cable is. Cable has never been a coordinator, Jackson has and that's why the Raiders were able to score points this season. I'd choose Jackson over Cable if I had to do it. Al would be getting slammed if he let his offensive coordinator walk too. Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

man if tony is agreeing with Al then you know the move is bad.lol

edit:

If your gonna be a succesful head coach your job is to over see the coordinaters and coaches and apply your team "philosophy"
and make sure you and the coordinators are on the same page with you and direction of offense ,defense, special teams. which
means u want the smartest guys as coordinators. You as Head coach might have a Defensive or Offensive background. thats
ok. You listen to what the coordinators tell you. So having Hue Jackson as a Coordinator is not bad its good. Let Cable apply his
knowledge to what he knows and thats Oline at the same time make those desicions coaches make to feild the best team to
execute. You throw your 2 cents in when needed but you let your experts coach at what theyre experts at. Cable did that.
Jackson and Marshall did their thing. Cable over seen it with Al. I see no problems here.
Now by letting Cable walk you almost Double Jackson's work load(if he becomes head coach). I dont like the fact that Cable left
but Jackson is smart and gets the best out of his offense.Marshall Gets the best out his defense. CABLE GOT THE BEST OUT OF
THE WHOLE TEAM.

You'd choose a decent Offensive coordinator over a proven coach??????

So, you'd take Josh McDaniels over.....say Bellichick?

Terrible Logic!

What the? Cable is a proven coach? Well if Cable is a proven coach, we'll see how fast is he's going to be hired to become a head coach of some other team. I'm not talking bad on Cable but what do you mean "proven" coach? Proven as in what? You act like Cable is Jeff Fisher..... His record as head coach is 17-27 last time I checked and the only thing that is proven is his losing record.

He made some costly decisions during the season like benching Cambpell after Campbell led the team to a 3-1 record during a 4 game stretch. He gambled by putting Gradkowski in against Miami and that could have something to do with him not coming back.

I was at the Miami game. What a disappointment. Why Campbell didnt start that game I'll never know. But at least I got to watch Jacoby return a kick off. haha

Cable benched him^^^^ (even though I thought Gradkowski should've played too). Thank god I'm not Cable. He took a gamble that didn't pay off. He gave Cable control but he was going to hold him responsible if the gamble didn't pay off.

Cable WILL end up with another team.....maybe not as a head coach, but an assistant or something. The guy proved he can coach this year. And he also proved it with one of the worst owners in America.

i wish him the best.

assistant is right.. I dont think any other team would make Cable their HC... when it comes down to Cable or Jackson.... Jackson will be tha best answer.. cant let a guy who came in and helped change tha offense... other teams would be willing to target Jackson over Cable.. couldnt take a loss like that

the main problem I have with all of this, is that cable had a plan for the offensive line and it was working. they were getting better and he had veldheer developing nicely. cable was also smart enough to not put bruce campbell into the mix too soon, dude is raw and just not ready yet. I think next year would have been the year for our Oline to really step it up and shine. now who the fuck knows what will happen with the line.

I know Cable was the O-line coach... but he was all about the zone blocking scheme... as soon as Jackson came in he brought on more of the power blocking/power running game that's been so effective

I was just watching Chronicle Live on CSN Bay Area... and watching everyone on there talk about it has kind of skewed my opinion more, thinking this was a good move

everyone (including Paul Gutierrez, who's the CSN Raiders insider) said that Cable was basically just a glorified O-line coach who talked to the media, and made some game time decisions like when to go for 2 and call timeouts and shit... and he really had no say on the offense, except for coaching the line

the most negative thing about the move I think is the fact that some of the players are not happy about the move... other than that, I'm starting to think more it was a good move

if Hue remains as HC dont expect things to get worse.. its not like players will forget what theyre doing over night.. they most likely will have tha same system in place

Speaking of that power running game...

As long as we get Hue Jackson I'll be happy. I just don't want any more bullshit throw away coaches.
