the main problem I have with all of this, is that cable had a plan for the offensive line and it was working. they were getting better and he had veldheer developing nicely. cable was also smart enough to not put bruce campbell into the mix too soon, dude is raw and just not ready yet. I think next year would have been the year for our Oline to really step it up and shine. now who the fuck knows what will happen with the line.
I know Cable was the O-line coach... but he was all about the zone blocking scheme... as soon as Jackson came in he brought on more of the power blocking/power running game that's been so effective
I was just watching Chronicle Live on CSN Bay Area... and watching everyone on there talk about it has kind of skewed my opinion more, thinking this was a good move
everyone (including Paul Gutierrez, who's the CSN Raiders insider) said that Cable was basically just a glorified O-line coach who talked to the media, and made some game time decisions like when to go for 2 and call timeouts and shit... and he really had no say on the offense, except for coaching the line
the most negative thing about the move I think is the fact that some of the players are not happy about the move... other than that, I'm starting to think more it was a good move
