.. And buying a winter coat.

It's cold as hell outside, and I've been putting off buying a winter coat because I don't want to spend the money. Truth is, I never wore more than a jacket during the last few winters and the people in my life always bitched about it. Back when I didn't drive, I didn't really have reason for a coat because I was either on the train or inside a building.

But this year, as I sat in my freezing ass car, I realized I would have to break down and buy a coat.

As I have never actually done this before, I know neither names or prices for ladies coats. I don't know if I should just walk into any store and buy whatever is cheapest, or if I should get one of those puffy coats filled with down that I see girls wearing. I also have no sense of fashion, but they look comfy.

Then again, a lot of men's coats look nice too.

I don't want to spend more than $80. Anyone know any good names? I mean, comfy, WARM coats.. Crow is dying over here..

I'm considering buying one on the internet and having it shipped to me because it's less time I have to spend waiting in my cold car.

Isn't the heat working in your car? Or just wear an extra sweater when you are driving... take it off when you arrive at your work.. saves money

Nothing looks better on a hyphy female gas break dippin in her scraper in the snow than a Peacoat. They also have oversized collars perfect for popping, and a white tee hanging to your knees under it is also a neccesity!

Depends on what kind of clothes you wear.. dont you dress business casual for the bank? .. you could get a waist length lined type jacket at Old Navy and it wont ruin your budget.. you could also try Ross or Marshalls to get a dope name brand for less..

I dont own a winter jacket now that I think about it.. I have several different styles of coat/jacket.. but no winter coat.. how odd... lol..

I'm going to get this down filled jacket from online.. It's for men but it looks so warm.

The bank makes us dress business casual but we can wear any sort of coats we want as long as we don't wear them while we work. So I could wear a big puffy men's coat and it'd be fine.

What I wear when not at work.. damn.. You don't want to know. I am very lax in my style, haha

I'm going to get a coat from this site tomorrow, and then check out Old Navy too maybe.. just see what I like.. I get my paycheck the 15th so I can play a little and get some more warm stuffs then..

I'm checking out Burlington too.

I may buy more than one coat as well.

It snowed here, like 7 inches. Which is reminder for me to buy this coat today. I'm home today because I slid off the road on the way to work and almost got into an accident. The roads are so bad here that I called out. I'm not risking my life over work. I almost slid off the road a few times along the way and I felt like turning around and going home. When I went through the red light while frantically pressing on my brake I realized I couldn't keep going. The roads were only getting worse and worse because they weren't main roads.

I am moving somewhere else. It's official. Somewhere warm, where it never snows. Or hardly snows.

you on the east coast somewhere i assume? it looks like you guys are taking a beating weather wise.

as far as coats go, it might cost you a little more, but if you get a nice northface or helly hanson or columbia with a zip out liner youll be able to wear it during the summer too with the liner out. i think that more than makes up for the extra money youll spend.

go get an el cheapo down jacket at champs sporting goods...they last as long as your not hittin fences or getting in knife fights. you know they rip and stuff by sharp objects. and they're like 50-60 bucks. had mine for like 3 years only worn it one season..but its still good if i need it.
