Fatal... dog you're acting like Brady flat out choked. That loss is not on him. I would blame Belichick for not trying a 48-yard field goal attempt (but he goes for it on a 4th and 13 instead with Brady already getthing hammered). I think Brady played as good as any qb could considering the amount of pressure he was under.

So who would have won that game last night playing under that amount of pressure? I don't see any qb (not even Montana or Peyton Manning) pulling that game out.
Go back and watch some film on Joe Montana and the Niners. Montana was punished frequently. He took his shots, got up and finished the game on a winning note most of the time. Especially on the big stage. Montana never had a line like Brady does so he was taking shots all the time. People like you seem to forget that shit.

Tony said:
And you said Brady was rattled? I mean he did eventually lead his team down to score that put them ahead 14-10.
And how did he do that? Oh that's right, short passes. The receivers racked up YAC and got them down the field, not Brady. You're giving him way too much credit here.

Tony said:
He threw damn near 50 passes and none were picked off....
Two of them should have been. Defenders were out of position and dropped the INT.

Tony said:
Brady to me didn't look like an average qb. Your average qb would have went out with an injury or would have gotten picked off more than once.
How do you figure all QBs are pussies that would have gone out with an injury? Brady is not a tough motherfucker, he just never gets hit so he never gets hurt. He was only hit HARD twice, the other hits were average hits. You act like he was getting leveled everytime.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. BRADY NEVER GETS PRESSURE AND ONCE HE DOES HE CAN'T DO SHIT. Go watch some film dog Montana under pressure. Please do so before continuing this argument.

I guess we were watching different SuperBowls then... Brady was getting smashed. You said he was only hit hard "TWICE"? LOL... you're trippin' if you really think he was only hit hard twice. Brady is tough if you ask me. Like I said before he lead his team down the field for the go ahead score. His defense didn't hold up like they're supposed to.

You said this about Brady
"And how did he do that? Oh that's right, short passes. The receivers racked up YAC and got them down the field, not Brady. You're giving him way too much credit here."
Didn't Joe Montana make a name for himself with short passes and his receivers getting YAC? So it's cool for Joe to do it and become the greatest of all time but when Brady does it he gets too much credit for it?

Come on now Fatal... you know Montana was not taking shots all the time. I don't recall Montana getting smashed like that in any of the SuperBowl's he played in. SF's o-line was good... I guess you don't remember your squad inventing the "chop block" huh... that same cut blocking scheme that Shanahan learned and brought to Denver.

Umm ok dont get what u are sayin! I guess u are disagreeng and u do think Joe is the greatest! U act like I made a very foul off the wall statement! U can argue Joe as the greatest but I dont think he is! I havnt done a list or anything but I know I have the great Elway & Favre ahead of him and Brady is on pace so if u dont think so thats fine, thats my opinion!! And again yea u may not be able to argue Aikman or Staubach as #1 overall but they still were both bomb and won superbowls with us so Im cool with that!! Got Em!!

I am not knocking Joe at all and I feel that he's the greatest but if the Pats would of won yesterday then I would have to say that Brady is the greatest. From Fatal's post I can tell that he thinks Brady is overrated as a qb.

Fatal, do you have Alzheimers or something??? Montana never threw short passes on winning drives??? He ran the west coast offense, nothing but short passes. Montana never had a strong arm, just he was accurate. Go watch film of Super Bowl XXIII, all short passes, and his O-Line had a few perennial pro bowlers.

Yet this year he had the best WR corps in the league, and couldn't win it.

There were no "rejects" on the Patriot WR list. They were all formidable. Everyone tries to downlplay the receivers in order to up Tom Brady. Give me a fuckin break. They ran routes, got open and caught the fuckin ball. Clowns always try to act like they sucked ass. Give it a fuckin rest.

Well name one of those receivers that are making noise in the league now, without Tom Brady???

By your standards, every single hit must be "hard" because he was not drilled many times. He got hit, but only a lil weenie boy would think they were hard hits (except a couple).

Tony said:

I didn't ask.

But I'm not saying he isn't, I'm only saying that we really don't know because he never takes much punishment.

Joe's sucess had to do with timing. If you don't have the timing and accuracy in the WCO you won't succeed, short passes or not. Brady's short passes were nothing more than dumpoffs to a WIDE OPEN receiver over the middle, or a designed screen pass that has nothing to do with Brady's abilities. You're acting like Brady pulled an Eli Manning or some shit. He dumped off. That's it.

Watch something outside of the SuperBowl.

Everyone knows the Niners dominated most of their SuperBowls. Go watch some regular season action (I have a DVD collection you can cop at Best Buy, it shows Montana getting drilled all the damn time). I don't need my memory when I have video evidence sitting right in front of me. Montana got hammered. His line was nothing like Tom Brady's.

From Fatal's post I can tell that he thinks Brady is overrated as a qb.
Don't put words into my mouth. I never said that. ON HERE, yes he seems to be overrated among people like yourself. I think Brady is one of the best in the game, and one of the best all time. All I'm saying is he IS NOT on Montana's level. Another point I'm making is he didn't do much in the SuperBowl. You're giving him a little too much credit for ONE DRIVE, especially when that one drive was a bunch of dumpoffs to wide open receivers over the middle when the Giants were already in prevent mode.

You're not bringing anything new to the table. Tony just pretty much made the same argument as you so refer to my responses to him.

Precise, timed routes are not the same as dumpoffs. Sorry.
