I do firmly believe that it can happen that way. Biggest example to me was Morales/Pacquiao 3. Even though Pacquiao was really getting a lot better during that time, there was a huge penalty for Morales being overweight. So he was working with a conditioning coach doing football workouts. Came in super ripped, but didn't do any boxing training from what I remember. Got taxed. But again, that's not what happened here with Canelo. He was just beat by a much better boxer.

Wasn't that 2 years ago though? He's definitely gotten thicker since then if I remember correctly. It's amazing Morales ever fought at that weights to begin with. He's pretty tall to weigh -7 lbs like he did for most of his career.

If the week before the fight Floyd weighed 152, and Canelo weighed 157, which of the two fighters was training better for the other fighter? Even Mayweather didn't want to drain himself out for Marquez and look what he did to him. If anyone of us were training for a fight what would you rather do, train for a fighter or concentrate on loosing weight?

So what the fuck was Canelo doing when he was allegedly knocking out sparring partner after sparring partner?

And refer to my previous post.

Sometimes you just gotta use the eye test. Sometimes guys look drained as fuck and other guys healthy. Canelo looked healthy. Morales looked like a ghost.

He's 5'8" I believe and fought at 122lbs. That's deathly thin. He obviously blew up between fights later in his career and most fighters do. He was still a sick fighter at 122 though. Corrales was like 6'0ish at 130 which is nuts. I have always been pretty thin but that is almost what size I was as a freshman in high school at 6' tall.

Cotto vs Sergio Martinez next year? Thoughts?

Sampson Lewkowicz, adviser to WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs), has advised BoxingScene.com that his fighter would be ready to face former three division king Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs), or anyone else, by the early part of next summer.

Sergio Martinez is willing to fight Cotto at 158.

Didnt see that one coming. While i would like to see Cotto shock the world i dont think thats a good fight for him. He doesn't have a good enough jab to get inside on Martinez.

Cotto has one of the best jabs in the game. But his arms will be too short for a bigger Martinez.

I knew Martinez would go after Cotto though. Why would he want to fight killers like Golovkin and Kid Chocolate?

I can see Cotto taking this fight for two reasons - big money and if he wins it would be a title in his fourth weight class, absolute shoe in for the Hall of Fame.

Speaking of Hall of Fame, the next three inducties are Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya and Joe Calzaghe. Man, Oscar and Joe together that's going to be one hell of a cocaine binge after party

Cotto-Rodriguez Tops Chavez-Vera - Highest 2013 Rating

HBO’s month-long absence from the sport was well preserved for its strong 4th quarter lineup. In back-to-back weekends, the network posted the two highest-rated live cable-televised boxing shows for 2013.

Miguel Cotto’s 3rd round stoppage win over Delvin Rodriguez this past Saturday in Orlando, Florida played to the tune of 1.555 million viewers, the most viewed live cable boxing telecast of the year according to Nielsen Media Research. The mark eclipses that of the previous season high, set just seven days prior when Julio Cesar Chavez Jr’s disputed decision win over Bryan Vera drew 1.416 million viewers.
